Anyone know if there will be a victory parade or will we waight until the end of the season in the hope there will be 2 cups on board the bus???

If there's a parade, then put glue on the handles of the trophy to prevent someone dropping the thing. Mangling trophies is the new rage in football.

Since when did we have victory parades for league cup wins?? 1st I've heard of it. 'Small club mentality' springs to mind when we start arranging fanfares for a cup that the bigger teams didn't really want. Kenny tainted the trophy himself last week when he openly admitted that the top clubs didn't take it seriously, so it hardly deserves a parade. That would be a tad embarassing, as not even Birmingham bothered and for them it was a much bigger achievement.

carheex this is all getting absurdly bitter.
in an increasingly competitive footballing environment, any silverware is very significant. i bet there isnt a club out there who would have liked to have been standing holding that cup aloft yesterday because the likely hood is that the majority will win nothing. No one at the club is saying this is the pinnacle, in fact everyone is saying the club must push on now and win more. This is a stepping stone, and raises the profile of the club, it shows we are progressing, and most importantly brings a positive focus back on the club as opposed to our previous crooked owners and that stupid racism debacle.
no harm to parade the trophy because it shows potential players that silverware is important to the club and that if you come here, then you will also get to parade youre silverware. thats what players want.

I agree with your thinking but still think it's absolutely ridiculous to have a parade for winning one cup and it not even being the main cup, were not man city who can barely fill out their own stadium and have won [oops] all for the last ... years, we're Liverpool FC the most successful English team ever period. Having said that if we do the double by winning the Fa Cup then I'd say a parade was in order at the end of the season. Even when the scum won the title last season for their 19th and had the parade I thought that was quite sh1tty and no fans even turned up. You only have a parade when you achieve something of epic significance to the fans and the club. Give most of us are talking about trying to win the fa cup and getting 4th I'd say most people would easily say its a far bigger achievement than winning the League cup but of course a cup is a cup, and now we're one more ahead of the rest in league cup wins

Lot of people on here are coming across as if they would have rather not seen us win a "diddy" cup yesterday.....its pretty sad really. Its a step in the right direction!

If you insist, flames. But I still disagree wholeheartedly with you on this particular subject.
There is no bitterness (that just wouldn't make sense!?!), and I'm pleased that we won but I don't accept in anyway that it raises our profile. We are one of the msot famous and succesful clubs in footballing history so how can winning a carling cup do anything to raise our profile?? Are the top european players going to be thinking, "ooh, liverpool football club...I hadn't heard of them before but if they've won the carling cup I hope they try to sign me - I'd better tell mr commolli so he can inform everyone that players are now interested!"
If we go around organising parades for such relatively insignificant cups it simply draws attention to how desperate we are and how far we have fallen.
On a slightly different note, do other major footballing nations have 1 main domestic cup plus a 'carling cup' equivalent?
