You are correct. Dressing Cardiff up as some kind of footballing giant to make our victory look more impressive won't fool too many people. There's a very good reason that they haven't played in topflight football for over 50 years and that's because they aren't a top flight standard club. No one can argue with that, surely?

There's also a good argument to be made for saying that 'all finals' are generally competitive, although we've been struggling against smaller teams for a few years now so today was never going to be any different (especially with henderson 'playing').

You mean Blackpool who were in the EPL last season, and Leicester who are in the FA Cup 6th round? Yeah, bunch of rubbish the lot of them!

No, I don't, because you have no point. They are one of the better championship cup sides out there - having battled through extra time and penalty shootouts to reach the final. That makes them very dangerous underdogs.

But you know what? Liverpool won anyway. Cardiff are not footballing giants, but they gave a good account of themselves in reaching the final and on the day itself. We could have been better, yes, but we were not so bad that we lost.

So chin up mate. I know you find it hard to celebrate Liverpool winning a trophy, but try anyway, yeah?

Makes you wonder! Anyway loads of positives! Downing really impressed me today! Skrtel was solid, really happy at the way they dug in against a well organised Cardiff team!
