ok money fine but 4th doesnt guarantee anything and is not success , winning cups is a form of sucesss and are not poxy , and more money doesnt guarantee better players , the club have forked ut 120 odd million on players only one has done ok the rest have been poor so that logic is flawed look at chelsea £50 million for torres

That says more about the manager's judgement than the notion of buying quality players though.

If winning cups is so important to success then where are birmingham, middlesbrough, leicester, blackburn and portsmouth at the moment? How come it wasn't a catalyst for their success? A domestic final is just a nice day out on the back of a few good games and few lucky cup draws - nothing more, nothing less. A yardstick for success it ain't - not in this day and age.

Yes we spent big on good premiership players whether they deliver here is the risk you have to take. Henderson is a good player not great yet but has all the attributes to become very good will he be a world class player i doubt it but only time will tell but he will be a good player for Liverpool in years to come I am sure of that . Downing was a safe buy in that he is very consistent and gives everything every game and has been a successful premier league performer and being in coaching myself a buy I thought was a no brainer but was over paid for and has been poor for us but that's how it goes . Carroll is a good player limited yes but very good at certain aspects of the game and will get better with experiencebas he is now showing you cannot build a team full of players that are good at everything but not exceptional at anyone one or 2 things. Adam I didn't want as he is a good passer but as a midfield player isn't good enough in the tackle or with ball retention but has impressed me at times with a good work rate that i didn't think he had and maybe will be a good player if he can improve his general midfield play . Enrique has been a great shrewd buy and was allways going to be a big success same as bellamy and coates hasn't had enough game time to judge him on but i see him as a good player that with time will be very good he has very good basics but is a bit eager when we have seen him which is understandable as he is trying to hard to impress when players don't have to prove anymore what they can do they are allways better as they have less pressure and can just get on with there game .

a fair post and to be honest there are no wrong opinions on here as we do not know the future. What I do see for the first time is that there is a plan and one all the club are backing.
Commercially all te right deals are being sought and obtained therefore maximising non football revenue. The Academy plays a football with great flair and the technical ability has improved dramatically, the spanish coaches have complimented the British coaches and all seems to be moving as one.

The first team is very much work in progress but a cup final win and a strong finish could give us a great season. The average age of the team has dropped significantly and the majority of the subs are young players. I expect Maxi. Aurelio, and maybe Kuyt to move on in the summer with our blessing and replacements will be alot younger. We no longer rely on Carra and the pressure on Gerrard is reducing as other players are starting to grow(Lucas inparticular).

The only question to be asked is that of a new stadium, a positive decision on this will guarantee that we will dine at the top table again.

All in all i think alot of good is going on within our club, Sure i wish all the new signings could perform as well as we hoped. Only time will tell.

Spot on mate there's no reason that the signings that haven't worked yet won't work next season they are all good players but its just finding form and consistency in our team selection which I think we haven't done enough this season being a coach and player myself you cannot put forward how important it is to build a 11 that will play regularly together it doesn't necessarily work from thw off but you have to have patience and not make hasty decisions to change it to quickly . But I see guardiola is thinking of leaving barca the end of the season for a fresh challenge and he had been full of praise for our youth set up I think he would come here and take on the challenge of putting us back on top he's young with plenty of energy and enthusiasm and could be perfect for us I like kenny but if guardiola is an option then unfortunately see you kenny and thank you . As guardiola is a great philosopher of the game with a big reputation and big players would love to play for him .

In 5 years time we'll be a regular in the top 4, Arsenal will have sacked Wenger and most likely be in the top 4 with us and the 2 manc clubs. Spurs will go bak to mediocrity trying to fund a new stadium like us but with much smaller revunes and a wage cap of 60-80k won't attract big name players and no redknapp. Chelsea won't even be top 4 imo because they need so much help it's unreal they need atleast 80mils worth of striking talent and probably anoother 30mils worth of cb and cm.

And with no Lampard Drogba Torres Meireles essien cech they really do need to buy a lot of players. But obviously they can't due to financial fair play which they already suck at by only lowering there spending by 1 mil this season comapred with last season.

With regards to city I think they'll start to be less dominant yr after yr with players leaving on frees etc and on lower fees and becoming a chelsea of now in the next 10 years due to financial fair play. Look at Chelsea since they spent big in 03. They've lost their value in players leaving on frees or being too old and losing their value, i.e rarely have they bought a player and sold him on for more money. The only thing city have on chelsea is a better academy.

Upcoming world class players IMO for 2014 WORLD CUP:
K-P Boateng, Gotze, Sturridge, Kroos, Lucas Leiva, Hummels, Kyriakos Papadopoulos,

Don't joke about things like that. It can and does happen to top teams.
