Stewart Downing...dear oh dear
Its been well over 20+ games now, and I've been very quiet on the topic of this supposed wide man and decided to be patient and give the man a chance in hope its just nerves and he'll come good.
Sorry I have to break that silence now.....He is [oops] terrible!
He is most definitely Aston Villa (mid table) class. There is a reason why no other big 6 club had no desires for him for years and especially at the eye-watering fee paid!
He is just not liverpool class, a far worse thought is our loved club is becoming his class! discuss....
p.s. He has definitely been the worst of the British trio brought in under Kenny!

Couldn't agree more.
A few weeks ago I thought he was on par with Carroll, but the latter has upped his game since then.

0 goals and 0 assists for £20m, yet Kenny says he is doing better than he thought he would!!!! Sorry Kenny, but you don't have to pay £20m for a player that contributes zilch!! (the going rate for dross is £16m I believe...)

Absolutely useless, he suffers even more than Carroll with the "They played a different kind of football at their last club"
At least Carroll is coming around and improving different parts of his game. A long time in the making, I know, but there are signs, small, but signs.
Stewart Downing has showed f*ck all, apart from his first game and first game of the season against Sunderland, that run from the right and shot that rattled the cross bar. That is the only thing that sticks out for me, apart from that he has been absolutely PISH!
Sorry Stewart, but we don't get it out wide and cross the ball on every singe attack here. It may be what your used to doing at Villa and playing 100% direct, but here it is a whole different ball game. Every single part of your game has to improve at Liverpool Football Club....and if it doesn't, your out. I don't care if your Opta stats say otherwise, or what you done at Villa.
Because your most certainly not doing it for us. In any way shape or form. Not even work rate, which is the bare minimum at LFC. Giving 110%. Not 50% and your upwards £60,000 pay check every week, far to many players at our club at the moment are comfortable with that.

It's laughable Dalglish can say "He is better than I thought" and even more laughable for Downing to reply in confidence "That's nice to hear, I'll keep giving 100%"
We are a joke at the moment, on and off the pitch and quite rightfully a laughing stock.
What would Shankly be saying if he was still alive?

downing is rubbish have always thought this about him, it should have been young or albrighton from villa.
fenway make me laugh with this resale value thing? who going to speand more than 10 mill on downing next summer??
he will end up @ sunderland or back @ villa next year mark my words
