You're right about needing to look at it through the owners eyes. Some fans may well be excited about a league cup final against a championship side; and if that's their criteria for a successful season then good luck to them. FSG on the other hand are a business that needs to make money to survive following a huge initial investment for the takeover followed by further massive squad investment which looks to be very poorly spent with next to no chance of providing a return. The only way they will make the most of LFC is by....:
1) capitalising on our image and marketability - sadly this is rapidly going down the pan for a number of reasons 2) finishing high enough in the league to qualify for the lucrative champions league
As it stands, removing the manager would probably help with both of the above and must therefore be something that the owners must be seriously contemplating. Make no mistake, their decisions will not determined by 1 or 2 poxy cup wins, even if it does make a few supporters happy. Just out of interest, what relevance is there in mentioning that our opponents in the final are a Championship side? It seems like you mentioned it in an effort to undermine the prestige of the League Cup. It's not the Johnstones Paint trophy - all Premier League sides WERE in the competition. Cardiff are there on merit, as are we, having got through with away wins to Stoke, Chelsea and Manchester City - none of which fielded weak sides. Also, "poxy cup wins"? You, my friend, have a terrible attitude. It's all wrong.

As a teenager, the cup final in '88 and a semi-final against Palace in 1990 (?) were massive reality checks for me.

I am now happy fenway have now stepped in and for me at last started to show leadership , and i have not doubt in my opinion that suarez and dalglish will be gone cups or 4th place or not and its nothing to do with race it to do with the shoddy way it has been handled and fenway are spot on NO-ONE IS BIGGER THAN THE CLUB , and i hope this is the sign of real leadership and a great future . Faz, do you hope Suarez and Dalglish are gone? Would you prefer they be sacked immediately or at the end of the season? end of the season .

and if we go on a good run, win the final in a couple of weeks, finish fourth with Suarez as exciting to watch as he has been, you still want Dalglish and Suarez gone at the end of the season? Even without having a replacement in mind?

You can't want a manager to be sacked, he's is not doing a terrible job. Its been a moderate season, not a catastrophe. Everything is decided at the end of the season, what ever trophy we win if we finish 7th or below then its the time to consider and ask questions. But we are not in that position yet, so lets see what happens. Support Kenny, because he supports the fans.

Yes shoddy leadership! they all left Kenny to stand alone and deal with it all whilst lording it up somewhere else in the world they should have been here helping, directing the search for a solution, good leadership should start with the owners, Kenny has made mistakes but it was a heavy burden to hold up on his own,he may well go along with suarez but all are to blame here and the owners should come out and say so.Where is their apology to us fans for doing nothing to help? Maybe this suited them down to the ground? a reason to go in for another manager, be careful what we wish for, lets see who we can get in, Steve Bruce, alan Curbishley, or shall we try for Niel Warnock? oh yes forgot Murinho will do it. Kenny's job is to 'manage' the club - that is what the owners employ him to do. They can't be expected to fly over here and hold his hand.
