I said on another thread that I would await the Clubs side of the hand shaking issue before I'd make up my mind. Taking todays statements of Suarez, Kenny and Ian Ayre at face value it would seem to me that Suarez either misled Kenny and the club prior to the game or else couldn't bring himself to shake Evra's hand on the pitch, either way Suarez exposed the manager, himself and the club to the tender mercies of a hostile media mob and foolishly played into the hands of Fergie and Evra. On this issue I find Suarez in the wrong and I now say he has damaged himself, his manager his club and its fans.
On the issue whether or not Suarez ever racially abused Evra in the first place, my jury is still out as no proof has been forthcoming and the Kangaroo court's report admitted that much, and incredibly reported that in the absence of proof they were taking one mans word over that of another. For me Suarez is a LFC player and as he claims he didn't racially abuse Evra I feel equally entitled to take his word in the absence of proof that he did.
Finally I find it repulsive that the Kenny bashers who pollute this forum would use a players misguided action on the pitch to reinforce their destructive and senseless arguments, if they think they are being supportive of LFC by their persistent anti Kenny rubbish, they are being as stupid as their own words portray them to be .

+1.

Saurez should have done better after having assured the club he would shake the hand of the villain. Suarez is not a racist. Kenny was caught out by Suarez unexpectedly not following through with the handshake. He was wrong to "attack" the media based on insufficient information, but he was put on the spot and had to come up with something. "I'll have to review the situation" would have been an appropriate response, but I guess he was just as annoyed at the media flogging of this dead horse as Suarez was at being caught out by Evra's pettiness.

I feel for them (our guys), but we need to think on our feet a bit better, yeah?

Well said, I wish we could just draw a line under this and put it behind us but I think we'll be dealing with this for the rest of the season, good that we don't have to play a league game for a couple of weeks and we have a trip to Wembley to give the media something else to talk about...

Touche. I hope we can move on. There were cock ups on all sides. I hope Suarez stays and makes some positive headlines for us and this doesn't effect him negatively. Misguided is probably the best way of putting it. We know the media in this country and we know Fergie by now, it's a shame we've let it divide opinion here so much.

Win at home to Arsenal and we're right back in it!

Yep defo agree with this. One one side i'm thinking how stupid this has been for us and how we haven't handled it well.

On the other side there is no shred of evidence that suarez is guilty and as a LFC fan I need to back the player.

Same with the hand shake. On one side I couldn't give a toss and evra looks like he instigated it. One the other side Suarez appears to have opened a can of worms by not shaking hands.

In the end I think its the media that finally decide who is guilty and that is won by stupid antics and childish games.

No one really cared when bridge didn't shake terrys hand?

I think Kenny did well yesterday (not at first) he game himself time though to let the owners make the appropriate comments to fix the situation.

Its all a sham, glad its over.

It's funny the way people have a go at the press now calling them scum, gutter press e.t.c. I can remember when we loved the press and reveled in them constantly building us up after winning all those Leagues and European Cups. I think now it's just sour grapes that we are sh*t now and the only headlines we get now are negative ones and ones because we are so p*ss poor on the pitch, my my how times have changed, just throwing an observation out there.
