However signed him wants shooting We all know the answer to that The same person who decided to pay Villa £20m for Downing (when N'Zogbia was available for half that) and Sunderland more or less the same for Jordan Henderson In my humble opinion that person is Comoli - which begs further question of his appointment i think it kenny signings

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Whilst Kenny has the final say on who he wants, the board surely do the negotiating on fees and wages? I wonder if they went back to Kenny this time last year and said, 'we can get you AC but it will cost us £35m - is he worth it/shall we proceed?', or whether he had no idea how much the fee would be and they alone are to blame. It may be that KD wanted him as bit part player and thought the cost would be maybe as much as £8m or £9m, in which case it was worth a punt. IF that's the case, he's probably as gutted as we are!
The above is a devils advocate look at things, However.........the reason why i think Kenny approved the deal at that humungous cost is because of the mistakes that followed regarding the ludicrous fees for henderson and downing. Surely the board wouldn't make the same mistakes over and over?? Nope, it's clear to me that our beloved kenneth's judgement is long gone.

Look he's slow, he spends most of his time moaning at others on the pitch, he's never where he's supposed to be, he get's beat in the too much. It's another £35m thrown away, most of us thought it was good business when we bought him including me but, this season so far we have struggled for goals and i know Suarez is not firing on all cylinders yet,but at least he's working to get goals or create chances, Carroll for me offers Fook all and most of the time he doesn't even try. If we had the Carroll from the Toon then it might be a whole lot different. It maybe me being impateint but the other sides are leaving us in their wake(again) and we are still playing catch up like we have been for the last 10 yeras!!

First YouTube video makes him look good but the goals are all against Championship teams and how many Championship strikers step up to the premier league and become a success??
I do think he's a good player but he is either not bring played in the right position or has given up.

You look at the likes of Taarabt at QPR who can't buy a goal and then look at the perseverance of Grant Holt who has stepped up as has Sinclair at Swansea. At the start of the season Taarabt would be worth twice the price of the other two. Now it would be less than half.

Asked what his message to Carroll was (after the game), Dalglish said: "Well done, Andy!
"He is good in the air but we've got to develop that, he's got to develop that to work within our framework. We've got to work with him and we'll be a lot more patient than a lot of other people will, and I'm sure we'll get our rewards in the end. And we're starting to bear fruits now."
Interesting comment. It clearly means we are going to stick with him, and it sounds like he is here for the long run.
One thing he did today was compete and I thought he won most of his arial battles. In the first half though he was just knocking them on (even though no-one was infront of him). In the second half though they were either knocked back at our players or our players were getting forward into position to recieve them mostly (include the goal).
Has Kenny finally found out how to use him?

We didn't need to buy Carroll when we did as he was injured at the time and then took time to get fit (if he is even fit atm).
It was a ridiculous panic buy £35 million was a complete joke and unfortunately he will never be good enough to warrant the price.
Torres sale had nothing to do with price we paid it was just a very very very bad bit of business on our part.
We will probably be watching Commolli in court in a few years for taking a bung for paying such a stupid amount for him. The reason people are equating the Torres sale with the Carroll transfer is because the owner, John Henry, claimed this himself. "The fee for Torres was dependent on what Newcastle asked for Carroll," Henry told The Guardian. "The negotiation for us was simply the difference in prices paid by Chelsea and to Newcastle. Those prices could have been £35million [from Chelsea for Torres] and £20million [to Newcastle for Carroll], 40 and 25 or 50 and 35. It was ultimately up to Newcastle how much this was all going to cost." http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/875987/john-w-henry:-andy-carroll-purchase-was-a-%27hell-of-a-deal%27?cc=5901 Whether you think it's just rhetoric or not, well, that's your right to have an opinion. The fact is, that's what the owner claimed.
