I know the last few results have been disappointing but honestly I'm expecting lfc to pull it out the bag.
Savic was horrific against spurs and that was only when spurs actively tried to score against city in the 2nd half once they were 2 goals down.
I fully expect lfc to start at a high tempo going for a goal in the early stages of the match winning the majority of 50/50 balls. i.e the classic Rafa Benitez tactic when we normally play the big teams which has worked against Real in the 4-0 win, Barca in the 1-0 loss which we went through and of course all the games the big teams in the league and the 1st leg.
The easiest way to do this would be to play a standard 4-4-2 with the wingers and full backs pushed forward as far as possible with 2 deep lying cm/dms. Of course were short on dm's at the moment with this mind we probably won't play this formation.
My team for Wednesday is Reina Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique Spearing Adam Kuyt Downing Gerrard Carroll
If Spearing can't play because of his injury Hendo will play.

Hardly believe I'm going to say this but if Webb does us a favour today and says he didn't see Lescott elbow a spurs player and the Balotelli stamp then both will get bans in time for the game on Wed hopefully. If that happens they'll have no 1st team cbs bar onouha and savic

I'm expecting performance and effort from the players similar to the game against Real Madrid in the Champions League at home, years ago.
Commitment and passion has to be shown by the players, or they won't be Liverpool players much longer.
My! Do they have some work to do on Wednesday night. Graft graft graft, because if they don't run through brick walls and fight for their own reputations after that Bolton game, then they simply won't be here.
I expect Dalglish to stand by his words on this one. Because at the moment there are 6 players treading on very very thin ice for me. Just do it, or f*ck of!
Charlie Adam Andy Carroll Stewart Downing Glen Johnson Dirk Kuyt Maxi

why is johnson on that list? For the same reason everybody seems to be sticking up for Gerrard. I don't really understand why. Why are players void of any sort of critism after that last performance? Is Glen Johnson immune, did you not see him in the last game? That is supposed to be a English international professional footballer on upwards £60,000 a week. Sentiment goes out the window when players play like they did against Bolton. Glen Johnson was the worst out of all the players on the pitch for us. That says a lot, considering how bad most of our players were. This ain't the first game with Johnson for me, there have been games we've won and we've been lucky with him in the side, to win. For me Charlie Adam, Glen Johnson and Andy Carroll were insults in that Bolton game, the others need to prove themselves for me. But if those three don't put themselves right, I'd do away with them soon. Connor Coady, Martin Kelly and Adam Morgan are waiting.

I agree Johnson has been poor more often than good.
I'd rather play Kelly

Down to perception though isn't it? I'd say our best player this season is Lucas, just like the last one. Unfrotunately he is injured, but Enrique has been brilliant, gives everything, busts a gut going forward and getting back. Solid. Although he didn't have a good game against Bolton either. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, he hasn't had a bad game and mostly everybody did in that game. However this isn't the first time Johnson has played like that. He didn't know where to run, stand, position himself, pass. He miss-controlled the ball wildly early in the second half like it was a tennis ball kick-a-round. We need to be demanding more from him, for me. Regardless of his goal against Chelsea. Don't put the blinkers on because of that, he has been poor and every time Kelly has played he has give it everything.....and is arguably a better defender than Johnson.
