Adidas saying we don't deserve a contract renewal?

What a joke. Whenever I go to any adidas shops, we outsell chav's shirts anytime. Most of the time, our shirts are almost always sold out while chav's still have bucketloads left hanging on the shelves. CL or not, we out sell many other teams in terms of shirt sales.

How is the deal strutured? Do we get a high % of sales? Or are we just getting the 25m a year and that's that, or a very small % of takings. Because if we don't get much of a % of shirt sales, then it doesn't really matter that much how many shirts get sold. And I'm sure they can distribute around the world somehow.

Long term it does matter, because it decides whether we'll have more or less supporters hanging around the club!

I don't understand what you're saying wiht this. this. We have suppoorters based on those already that are fans, their children etc, and then those that begin liking us because of our successes. Nobody becomes a supporter because they can buy the shirt in the local shop.

What I'm saying is that for some new supporters (or those who yet don't have decided what club to support) it does matter if the shirt can be seen in the sports shop.

If the LFC shirt isn't available it's likely that they simply will choose to support another club.

I think this problem isn't big in England, but abroad. International supporters don't always choose between for instance Arsenal or LFC (2 PL clubs) but perhaps between Barcelona and LFC. If our kit can't be found in the shop, then it's a done deal that we've lost a supporter!

I know down here, it's always Barca, United, Chelsea shirts and then Arsenal when it comes to shirts found in shops. When I've looked for shirts, I've always had to go to the Adidas store. But in saying that, the shirts that I see being worn around on the street the most without a doubt are Barca and Liverpool.

My only concern now is how Warrior is going to market their brand around the world without existing supply chains.

The good thing about Adidas is that they already has existing shop fronts and it's easy to put the shirts on the streets. Warrior will have lots to catch up.

It'll be back to the same Reebok situation where the brand wasn't as strong as adidas and hence we lose out on marketing.

New Balance is everywhere though, so that might be an avenue that they might be looking to exploit.

I am sure Warrior/New Balance see this an opportunity to expand their global image,Retail outlets will want Liverpool shirts to attract customers into buying other stuff they dont need.
