Looks like we are going to miss out on Sow too! Well...is this a bad thing as he would be similar to Carroll?? But his speed is a good point!

I have to say that I'm really annoyed that we didn't go for Papiss Cisse, I think I've swayed to the side that thinks Comolli is a waste. Cisse in my opinion is better than Sow and Ba, and he wanted to come to us.

Don't normally get annoyed this much when we miss out, but you can mark my words, Cisse is going to bang them in. He's a real poacher.

im getting fairly sick of us signing 20 under 17s every transfer window, we ve been doin it since rafas days and not 1 of them have made. just buy a few proven players for gods sake

Thing is so called proven players cost a lot of money. And those who are not proven are signed because of potential. In my book proven players are those who have a love of the game and go out to do their best every week. Bellamy is in that group along with Carragher, Suarez and Gerrard. For us outside of that group there is nobody.

There are not many teams who have 4 or 5 players who would put everything on the line for their club yet we are asking for proven players. It is surprising how unproven some of these players turn out to be. Downing is one. Keane was another. What are we going to get from a Defoe or a Bent? My guess is that it will be an overpriced highly paid player with no residual value whatsoever.

Give me a hungry player who at 22/23/24 has a fabulous attitude to the game and is improving every year and wants to get better and better. They are not proven until they adapt to their new surroundings. Torres was proven and to a lesser degree so was Carroll. We need special players for a special club and its special fans. Not players who just want the money to roll into their bank accounts every week.

22/23/24 agreed......Tbh im glad were signing lots of young talent for the future but a stopgap striker wouldn't go astray for now....

Wonder if he'll get a start or is he another one for the future?
