Winning a cup would still be more than anyone else has managed in 5 years however seriously teams take it. Perhaps the whole Suarez thing has caught up with us and Gerrard can't win every game on his own even at home.
11 home games 4 wins 7 draws. Had that been 7 wins and 4 draws 4th would be nailed on. Even 7 wins and 4 defeats we would be 2 points better than we are now.
Perhaps winning the CC would be the easiest route to Europe next season. Get that first and see where the rest of the season takes us.
Well the season we finished 2nd and actually challenged for the title, top at christmas and I think went to quarters or so in the champions league seems like a much better season than 6th and winning a cup.
To be honest we drew games v teams we would normally be looking to beat that year too. What is frustrating is that we have won games at Arsenal, Everton, Chelsea twice, Man City so surely we are giving teams too much respect at home. Just seen on BBC that Kenny says that Agger was injured. So was there really a need to play Carragher and Coates?
