Saurez was the best player in a continental tournament which his team won.and not just any continant.rooney won a national league.if the world cup is considered the biggest football comp in the world.then the continental versions of that must be next.so in my view Saurez was more succesful last season than dwain rooney.and so should be in the world 11 instead of the scouser in a wig.

Zulia striker, Manuel Arteaga, traveled to the city of the Beatles to enter evidence Liverpool club has shown interest in the talent of the player who plays for FC Zulia.

Arteaga has also played for the national team is 17 and measured 1.84 meters tall. He arrived with two goals in the South American sub Vinotinto 17 played in Ecuador. His two goals were scored in Brazil in the 4-3 defeat Creole.

I think it would be quite advantageous to sign two young players this January and avoid splashing any cash. Preferably a right winger, and a striker. Avoid splashing the cash now, and we will be in for Cavani in the summer. No chance he moves in January with ChampsLeague, but certainly could be on his way out in the summer months. I personally rate Loic Remy highly, and wouldn't mid seeing us snatching him up this summer either. Same goes for Podolski. The real talent is going to be available this January, but looking ahead... oh my word. But perhaps we will wind up with some quality youth this January? Shaqiri, Luuk, Hoilett, Sinclair someone. But i don't think we will see the arrival of a big money striker this January.

shocked I really can't recall the last time we were 'quick' in transfer dealings. Expect a deadline day signing if any.

From what I am hearing, apparently a right winger is our priority during this transfer window and not a striker..However it is expected that a striker will also join the club, but the main emphasis is on a right winger! To me this is great news as it means Kenny recognizes the fact that Carroll simply hasn't been getting the service and that this is a huge contributing factor to his lack of goals...Give the guy service and he will tuck them away.

suarez is only out for 6/7 games. our £35m striker is struggling to get into the side when suarez is available anyway, so do we really need another one on the bench? the run of games this month should give carroll the chance to find some form. he's been dropped when he's scored and played well like after the derby away win. considering the amount of money we payed for him and the fact he's still young we should be looking to give him a run in the side than to just keep throwing money at the club when there aren't really that many decent targets available.

i'd take any exceptional players that we could pick up cheap like cahill etc. but we should wait to see where we end up at the end of the season before we go splashing huge amounts of money on any more mediocre players

You're judgement worries me slightly if you really believe Cahill is an exceptional player...

is he not going to end up at a top four club? or top six at least?

if he's good enough for chelsea/united then surely he must be good enough for us. the starting england centre halves are all ageing. he's gonna be a regular in the next few years providing he's playing week in week out. gary cahill is a quality centre half imo

Maybe I'm just thinking of the last few windows..thought hendo, downing qiick, Adam protracted (torres/mereles beyond our control on timing) , AC was result of torres, keane (not manager choice) deadline day. So to be fair, quite mixed in truth (i stand corrected)

Ghana youth midfielder Mumuni Abubakar is set for a two-week trial with Liverpool according to GHANAsoccernet.com.

The 18-year-old was recently voted the Sport Writers Association's Ghana Premier League Player of the Year for 2011, and is tipped for a bright future in the game.

Abubakar caught the eye of Liverpool scouts playing for Ghana's U20 side in Italy back in November, and Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is keen to take a closer look at the African ace, inviting him to spend some time at Anfield.

Despite his tender age, Abubakar already captains his current side New Edubiase United, and will be looking to earn himself a move to the Barclays Premier League before the close of the transfer window.

"Liverpool will assess him for ten days and then take a decision but I'm confident he's not coming back to Ghana," confirmed Fifa agent Oliver Arthur.

"I understand he had a good game yesterday [Saturday] against Medema in the Ghana Premier League and so his fitness level cannot be questioned.

"He is a promising player and I wish him all the best."
