Their is no doubt the clubs is distancesing self from the fan/supporter ,. for starter we are not fans/supporters we are customers just like any one who goes to tesco's , plus i know it upsets people and i dont mean to offend people but its local support has and is getting priced out of going not just recent , but for the last 10-15 years , yes its ok the club courting the asian customer but some will be long term but most wont if the clubs stays in the doldrums , now if someone from anywhere has been a season ticket holder for years , but no sort of loyalty no more , and that certainly make the (customer) disconnected from the fan/supporter of years ago who were fans/supporters not just cashcows .

Was talking to a colleague this morning a Utd fan was discussing the Utd vs City game. I said I wanted City to win a) because I hate Utd and b) because it might motivate city slightly less if they were still in FA cup. When he went away I thought about it. I cannot believe what I am about to say. If anything I hate Liverpool more than Utd it’s not Utd that asks me for £1000 every year and treats me like dirt. It’s not Man Utd that sends me texts / emails every day asking for more money. It’s not Man Utd that that failed to send my season ticket and made it hard to get it making me queue up for 40 mins before each of the first two home games and treated me like I was a problem. (We cannot sort it by phone). I know I will be slated for this by the real fans but I defy anyone who actually goes to Anfield as opposed to virtually to tell me a different experience. We often talk about loyal fans but you try being one in practice in the modern game with the big clubs. Faz is partly right its just a commercial business but unlike Tesco’s which if it treats you badly you can go to Sainsbury’s in the case of the football fan you have no other option the club have you by the balls and don’t they know it. Customer service nil price as much as they can get away with. And I know some will say if it’s so bad then why go Stanley ? Good question!

True about being customers. But the straneg thing is people actually think this is something new. We've always been customers, and not more. Nothing has changed on that front. What has changes is the wages and the responsibility those players should have,
no i dont think we have always been customers , in the 80's we were not customers .

That’s true Rafa the club always treated fans badly in the 70's and 80's the ticket office and arrangements were notorious. The difference that if you are paying £50 and being treated like dirt you notice back in the 80’s fans were treated as no more than animals but the price was something the ordinary supporter could pay and you accepted it. Now it seems to me the prices have gone crazy but the old club attitudes have not moved on.

I think once the Club lost it's local support it lost it's identity and once a Club loses that the heart and soul goes out of it. The funny thing about all this is that of all the Clubs Liverpool and United are the mosy identical, both lost there identity, both have had tradgedy's, both have American Owners, both are the most successful Clubs in the country, both Clubs were built by Scottish iconic managers us with Shanks them with Sir Matt, we both have current Glasgow bosses and both Clubs local fans have been priced out and in some cases pushed out by OOT and foreign fans, It's like looking in the mirror.

I don't think locals have been pushed out by foreign fans. Foreign fans are still very much in the minority its the cost of players wages that putting up the prices that would occur wherever the fans are from I would think.

probably right but the club actively court the foreign money more than locals or anyone close by including irish or anyone from the U.K. , that the point of what we were discussing on the other thread , fan parks ,cheaper tickets etc etc
