Its not about what he did for Liverpool but I guess you don't understand. so ok why did messi win it , for his international form or his barcelona form , why is rooney in this team for his england form or his massive contribution to united's league title win and champions league run i think the latter , but maybe you dont understand

To be fair, he did spend half a season at Ajax too, and they did win the Eredvisie. Sure they didn't do that well in the CL, but surely helping one of his clubs win their league and being player of the tounament in the Copa is decent.
But your right, Club form is what gets attention. And even though Rooney and Messi have been [oops] for thei countries, their club form has been really good.

Its not about what he did for Liverpool but I guess you don't understand. so ok why did messi win it , for his international form or his barcelona form , why is rooney in this team for his england form or his massive contribution to united's league title win and champions league run i think the latter , but maybe you dont understand look he did nt get into it fair enough, but its not that ridiculous to think that he might have. he had a great world cup helping uruguay finish 3rd and he won the copa america and got player of the tournament. i remember 1 year nesta won world player of the year for having 1 good world cup, so its not that ridiculous as you call it. and theres no need for you to talk to people like that who are just putting there point of view accross

Players in the past have won this award purely on their international exploits. Its not about club level only.

yes he done well but thats all he did nothing domestic nothing in europe copa america gets played and nothing is said about it decent tournament but a bit down the list . Hang on, you were the one banging on about the carling cup being a vital tournament, you were the one supporting the belief a cup is a cup. But know you say the copa America is a bit down on the list?
