I would like to have seen Shelvey start in place of Spearing. I just feel that Shelvey has more goals in him. When Gerrard's fit I hope that Adam drops to the bench. Delighted that Bellamy is starting though. Lets hope Downing breaks his barren goal run today!
I don't see a clear play maker in the team anywhere.
Adam and Spearing are playing holding midfielders, Downing and Bellamy switch spots and all try to put it to Carroll, something that all teams expect and are ready to defend against him, Henderson seems to be lost in his role, perhaps he might have to play left wing, would rather prefer him as an attacking mid. When Lucas' back, we need Lucas as defensive mid and play Henderson and Gerrard as play makers, Henderson has a lot to learn from Gerrard, he's got a lot of skill in him. Perhaps need another striker of Suarez's likeness and goalscoring history, someone like Cardozo or Hulk perhaps.
Just seen Joe Cole on Sky Sports. Could do with him being our playmaker. He's looked quality for Lille this year - shame the French league is utterly different to the Premiership.
