It was on the premier league site that Bolton are looking to sign Veloso from sporting lisbon. I'm surprised that he would go to a club such as Bolton. I rate Lucas, give him a few years to develop and I'm sure he'll be a quality midfielder.
But veloso is someone we should have been looking 2 years ago, and he'd be infront of Lucas for a spot by now.
What does this have to do with LFC? Well I guess I'm disappointed we didn't have the vision, or don't have the vision to sign this player, and they end up going somewhere else, and in 3 years time he'll be at Chelsea or arsenal, or we'll end up having to pay 20M for him. And I'll think to myself, why didn't we just sign him then?

Fair point about sitting on the bench. I suppose lucas probably hasn't developed as much with his bench duties. One of my mates watches a lot of the portugese league, he put me up to his talent 2 years ago when he was either loaned out, or broke into the first team, can't remember. I've been interested in him because he's a deep-lying playmaker, good technique on the ball with the mentality to break down attacks.

Personally, I like that type of player, and I think he has a pretty decent future ahead of him... so perhaps it is better for him if he doesn't come, otherwise he might prove to be a flop :P

veloso has been scouted by all the top clubs for years but none have yet moved for him - maybe there is a reason for it? maybe his off-field attitude or activities put teams off him? i dunno i am just speculating because whenever i have seen him he has looked a good player

Sometimes a player in a foreign league might shine but there are many things that managers need to look into as the PL is a lot different to most other leagues. It would be a waste of time if the player was to come and be a flop. Given that he has had the top four of the PL looking at him shows that he is not ready for the PL or just wouldn't fit. Who knows?
