The last few days I have seen kop fans saying the team is poor and we need to change things. I cant believe what I'm seing. Other then the game against Spurs we should of won them all. The problem was not the formations or the way we played the problem was are finishing its as simple as that.

So you saying that if we didnt bury any of are chances or hit the woodwork 17 times already we would not be in a better postion? The games we lost and drew we should of walked away with 3 points but it was a are finishing that let us down?

Against the better sides we defend deep and counter attack, which suits us perfectly. Not that much flair is needed to pull off tricks like that.

Against minor sides (like Sunderland, Blackburn, Wigan, Norwich...) we haven't got enough ideas to unlock their defence.

Where's the speed and all the offensive creativity? Do we have the proper players for that kind of play? Can we dominate our opposition? Sure we can keep the ball for a while, but the passes tend to go backwards and sideways more than straight through up in the middle.

You could see in the last game when SG came on that something instantly happened on the pitch. OK he was not fully match fit and lost a few balls, but the ideas and creativity was still there. You could see that we suddenly had a world class player in our side!

Another point, we still cannot play for 90min. We only play good in one of the two halves.

Van gogh is spot on we beat the big teams because they have a go at us and we ick them of and find the space they leave and we do it superbly . But when teams come to anfield and are happy with a draw they can sit back and just keep us at bay because we are to static and don't have the players to break then down only suarez and gerrard . We need pace and skill on the right wing like nani does for united and silva for city these sort of players can be unpredictable and sometimes awful but can change a game in a flash with a bit of magic . Like gerrard had for many years and torres used to suarez can but he is the only one we are solid and a good side but lack that bit of pace and skill on the wings like spuds with bale and lennon and and someone with class in the middle gerrard is one of the best but how long for and will he ever stay fit enough from now on.

you might be right about the finishing, that's fair enough but bad finishing should only come down to one or two games like city at the weekend against WBA..... there is a problem and it needs sorting not ignoring with a silly sentence like if we start scoring we'll be fine. that solves nothing.

its not just the finishing ( it would help). if we had more pace and width in the team we would be nailed on for top 4. we need pacey players that can take players on a open up the game.

spurs - bale and lennon
city - johnson
utd - young, valencia and nani
arsenal - walcott
chealsea dont really play with wingers

Suarez scores at a rate of about 1 goal in 6 shots on goal. Now, if all those shots were from the region of the penalty spot with no defenders in the way I'd say only our finishing needs work. But in fact most of his misses are either from outside the box, at an acute angle to the goal (where hitting the woodwork is probably easier), or from a cutesie shot when surrounded by players. If those are the best chances he's getting, then it's hardly surprising he's missing so many, and our problem is clearly our support and build-up play.
