Let's face it Torres is a No
Hazard No
Shaquiri No
De Jong No
Eriksen No
Lucas Moura No
Higuiam No
Ozil No

For 2 reasons their current club is in Champ League or doing well i.e major title or cup chance
Or
Other clubs in a better position could get get them ahead of us easily.

Rofl and that's basically the last 3 pages on this thread lol

Realistically you have to look at players you are in Europa League or in inferior leagues on smaller wages, or not in europe or not in favour at their clubs

I.e how suarez and caroll were

Krasic Juve don't want him
Fernando not in champ league and on small wages
Donnely where the [oops] is he playing lol
Keita sort of out of favour at Barca and wants more game time but too old
Podolski wants to leave and we can offer bigger wages but prefers champ league club

any others I missed?

Very good post and just what I said in another thread. Not sure why people keep saying we should just go and get adam johnson and torres like it's the fantasy league.

Signings last summer were high profile but we couldn't ask for much more given our position and unless we get champs league, we'll be in the same position again. Jan signings are very tough too and we'll be very limited to any high profile signings.

It's gonna have to be either europa league teams, players who are frozen out the team (not many will be high profile) or probably proven prem players like Bent or possibly Defoe.

I know what you mean but honestly I think Adam Johnson is a relastic option not for Jan or next summer but maybe in 1-2 yrs time cause if he turns out like some of Chelseas players where they signed but never played he'll leave them, e.g wright philips at chelsea

This might be laughed at, but what about Steven Fletcher from Wolves? He actually know where the goal is, and his goal scoring record is pretty good. Could be a smart piece of work.

Ok, first of all Ozil has had a bust up at Real and Mourinho doesn't want him so he is a possibility although one I don't think we need to entertain, De Jong, if you are reffering to Luuk De Jong then he is a definite possibility.

As far as your last statement about us being able to offer bigger wages to Podolski, that is utter rubbish, he is being paid by the Sheiks over there and his wages are probably one of the biggest stumbling blocks to any transfer out of Koln.

I suggested this on another thread about a week or so ago. The problem for some fans is that he is not a high profile signing but he clearly shows the right approach to the game. Wolves paid £6.5m for him I think. Perhaps we would need to pay £10m and send Coates there on loan until the end of the season. He is only 24. But that would not be a risk compared to some £20m + potential signings we could make. Once you spend £10m + on any player it is very hard to make a profit from any future sale. A plus point for Fletcher is that he would not be cup tied for Carling Cup. This is also a player who has scored at Anfield, Old Toliet and The Emirates this season.

We need young players that will actually join us. Players like Shiqiri, Eriksen, Marin are the way to go. They are young and would join us because they have time on their side.

He has got a pretty good goal scoring record though. Don;t get me wrong, I want Soldado or Podolski as much as anyone else, but Fletcher is a good goal scorer and is young.

My list in an ideal/realistic world would be:
Soldado
Ramirez
de Jong

Desh, history is history and the past is the past.

higuain is not going to sign for LFC cuzz of that 4 nil hammering real got years ago from the reds.

thats like saying ie KD shud sign pele cuzz he was one of the best strikers in the world in the late 60/70's.

the only way higuain will come to LFC, is if KD cud get him on loan, next month and if we get a CL place for next season, then sign him.
