I'm fed up of us spending big on average signings.
Our midfield just isn't capable of scoring goals which is a major concern.
People moan about Suarez, Kuyt, and Carroll not scoring but our midfield also needs to chip in. Look back at teams who have won the league and their scoring midfielders:
Arsenal: lyndberg, Pires, Viera, Petit
Man Utd: Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo, Keane,
Chelsea: Lampard, Duff, Robben, Joe Cole,
If we are to progress our midfielders need to step it up and get in the oppositions penatly area.

Agree, I think Adam is chipping in so that's one down, then theres Gerrard but that won't last forever unless he becomes like giggs, so currently it's probably 2 midfielders who score when we should be looking to have 4-5 min. Even a midfielder who can chip in with 1-3 goals by January i.e not proflic is a start like Anderson at utd or Milner, Lennon etc
Utd have, Valencia, Giggs, Anderson, Nani, Young,
City have Silva, Toure, Milner, Johnson, Nasri,
Spurs, VDV, Bale, Modric, Lennon
Arsenal don't really have anyone prolific but all their mids score goals i.e 5-6 goals a season which equals itself out
Chelsea, Sturrdige, Mata, Meirles, Ramieres, Lampard
Upcoming world class players IMO for 2014 WORLD CUP:
K-P Boateng, Gotze, Sturridge, Kroos, Lucas Leiva, Hummels, Kyriakos Papadopoulos,

i fully agree with your post and i have been saying this since the season started, our midfield needs improving asap, it has not pace, no goals, no balance and no service to our strikers.
i wud luv KD to sign ie de rossi, he wud add the quality that is needed and with him alongside a fit SG, we wud be awesome.
Adam johnson or shaquire..(basel player), team/midfield needs pace, goals, service to our strikers, to get the best out of them.
torres on a loan deal or sign him.
