Doesn't matter whether one's an optimistic or pessimist. The truth is,we're a very average team without torres & gerrard. There's already too much pressure on this aquilani fella to perform because everyone's now looking at him as our saviour & the lad hasn't kicked a ball yet.Maybe rafa should have spent the 20 million on a striker rather than on a midfield player who we're only gonna get 2 thirds of a season out of.Buying a striker,he could then move gerrard back into midfield, solving one of many problems. If rafa left,a new manager would still be left with the same players & no money. So,maybe, rightly or wrongly we should stick with rafa til the end of the season & then get rid of the yanks & the manager.

yea, that's the sad truth...

Sure we can still hope that the season will turn around and that Aquilani will be a massive boost to the squad, but there's still to much negative stuff around the club for me personally to believe that all this will come out good.

Right now i can only see one solution to the problems and that is yanks out, and also rafa out...I've supported rafa over the years but right now i feel that we need a whole new start, with new owners and a new manager with new ideas...

Sadly i can't see that happening in the near future.

the only good news this week was Kyrgiakos is injured, the bloke is a complete donkey.

A win against Lyon and and 3 points against the Mancs will reignite our season. All the top teams have made unconvincing starts, I reckon it will only take about 82 points to win the leage this season, and if Aquilani comes good, and the defense remembers how to defend and we have some good fortune with injuries then we are still in the title race.

Kyrgiakos is a massive liability - he will get destroyed by anyone with the remotest bit of pace or guile. He is quite a decent header of the ball, but if that is all Rafa wanted then we should have signed a performing seal rather than an over the hill carthorse :-)

I have to agree with Emp here, Dunne would have been a decent signing, particularly on the cheap

the greek was a complete waste of money...we needed him for one game (bolton) but honestly i can't see him playing more than 5-10 games this season (including the carling cup)....
