Ozil I know about and I see him as a good player, the other two I've seen very little of them and only know what's been written here by those that know, they're reputed to be very good players, so lets hope we get at least one of them. I see a striker as an absolute priority now that we are going to loose Suarez for about 5 PL matches, indeed a striker/goal poacher was required anyway given Carrolls form.

I don't know how you can question Carroll's form he has no form because he isn't playing he needs a run of games then judge him I think he will suprise people if given a decent run in the team just like Robbie keane when he was here and just didn't get a fair crack you have to give players a chance look at Lucas he was given a go now he is probably our best player .

Main striker is an important role in fact critical. The problem with giving somone an extended run in the hope they will get better is what happens if they don't ? a whole season is wasted. And really I know its been said before but for £35m you expect more than the finished article. I dont blame Carroll but I do blame whoever was the numpty who paid £35m for him.

Ah lord save us Wicksy, in those matches he did play in he was no where near the pace or the action. We can't afford to be messing about with out of form strikers and letting a 4th place pass us by. I say bench him and bring in a decent striker in Jan. Carroll will have time to find his feet next season. Though since I've come to this position things have changed big time with Suarez being banned. So we may have to play Carroll whether we like it or not. What a position to find ourselves in. However as the eternal optimist I'll live in hope a miracle might happen and either Carroll finds his feet or we sign a new Torres!

I know what you mean but we are struggling up top anyway so surely worth a try for a while we have nothing to loose let's be honest it can't get any worse.

I'd like to see Podolski at Anfield but as long as he isn't too expensive his stats are not fantastic at club level done well for Germany though and he's still young so could do well for us for a few years

Yes we are struggling up front as you say Wicksy, even Suarez cant score a bloody sitter at the moment. I just hope we won't miss him as much as people think, what with much of his play coming to nothing of late anyway, so perhaps we can get by with Bellamy, Kuyt (also out of form) and maxi. I think we should play 4 3 3 with those three up front and maybe Carroll from time to time pending signing a new striker. It could all work out , you never know football is a funny old game.

I think Carroll would do well given a run off games but just my opinion am a big fan of his I watched him a lot at Newcastle and was very impressed he is a very good player and with time as he is still very young will be one of the best if not the best centre forward in the premier league. We just have to fit him into the team and get the best from him which is what I hope we can do . As for kuyt he's been a great servant and i love him but he isn't a prolific goal scorer never has been and never will be . And maxi does a job but he isn't anywhere near good enough . I say play a front 3 of suarez Carroll and bellamy and see how it goes .
