Hey guys, so I know we are all pretty upset about the ban right now but perhaps this is a blessing in disguise...in more way than one. Let me explain.
Firstly, as a result of this ban, the owners mightbe pushed into some mnore investment in January, to try and secure that 4th spot. I know it's hypothetical but it is a possibility.
Secondly, with Suarez out, perhaps others players in the team will be able to shine more. I feel sometimes that we rely to much on Luis when he is in the squad and that we actually play more like a team when he is not in it.
Thirdly, Luis needed a break and it was becoming more and more obvious. He never got any rest, perhaps it will do him good.
Last but not least, this is a perfect platform for Andy to step up to the plate now and I believe he will! Andy was not used to being just another squad player, he was overshadowed by Luis.
I feel that we can manage to get 4th even after this horrible decision by the FA. Perhaps now people will see that we are not a one man team. Onwards and upwards with our heads held high!

My thoughts are, I wish I had an ounce of faith in Carroll, I hope Stevie comes back sooner so we can put him up front. If we buy any more players in January they are quality players that can do a job from the out set none of this settling in period shennanigans. I hope that the Kid that is currently being linked with club has got a massive set of Knackers coz he could find himself at the sharp end of the best league in the world pretty soon!!

We're doomed lets face it. Hahaha you are funny Stanley Park, and a tad OTT....Relax, Luis was hardly noticable in our last game anyway. Bellamy will step up as will Kuyt and Andy and Maxi...

i sadly disagree mark, luis was pivotal in the last game. he is doing a lot of donkey work and it goes unsung. we'll be absolutely castrated up front without him.

What are your thoughts? Totaly agree, I was actually hoping suarez would get banned for a few games for the above reasons, but not 8 games!!!!

I cannot agree with this at all, you will see, the team will show that it is a team! It is the core value that Kenny has tried to instill in all the players. No one player is more important than any of the others, it is a team and will perform as such! We will manage.

Whether or not he's scoring goals he's always causing problems to the opposition's defence. I don't see Carroll stepping up to the plate and Bellamy's not capable of doing it on his own. Ridiculous ban but the FA were always going to dish out some extreme punishment to send out a message. I don't see it being reduced and with the games we've got coming up I'd take the eight game ban.
