I think we need to remind ourselves that goalposts nowadays are made of steel rather than wood!

As annoying as it is to have hit the woodwork so many times we have to say that bad finishing has a lot to do with it as well. Saurez attempts yesterday for example, the second attempt was pure class and unlucky to not go in off the post, but the first effort was a poor finish, he did the hard work to get the chance and then wasted it.!
We need a quality finisher up front who will take the majority of chances created, not easy to find them of course but they are about and not always expensive (unfortunately Hernandez up the road proves that!)

Totally agree "matt b". Suarez had not done much up to that point. Apparently he was at the hearing with Evra and FA WEdnesday, Thursday and Friday so possbily why he was quiet on Sunday. However, once he pounced on that chance he did all the hardwork and should have just "slotted" the ball home. Instead he hit the ball intending on putting a HOLE in the net. He should have scored as should have Adam. Adam could have squared to Suarez but he probably would have hit the post !!!!

Remember hernandez goal against us ? Had a split second to react at the 6 yard box. He did react and scored - This was a typical folwer finish by Hernandez and exactly the type of player we need.

Also - if we think about the amount of "one on one" with the keeper as well OR the amazing saves Swarzer, De Gea and Hart have made - a more clinical finisher or poorer keeper we could have (and should have in my opinion) beaten City and at least a draw with Fulham if not a win. Anyway - the games are over and we got what we got.

Its the same old story - we got the defence sorted now but we just can't finish. Few years back with Torres and Gerard we could score goals but defence was a bit leaky. We should be up there in 3rd or 4th but we are not.

We have got to win our next 3 games over Xmas against mid table teams in the same fashion we beat Villa. Win the game by half time and play well. Bring Gerard back as soon as we can and a decent striker in January and 3rd / 4th if definitley within our grasp but consistency will be CRITICAL. Just hope the FA find they can't charge Suarez.......That is KEY

Perhaps somebody has put a magnet in the ball then.
