yup agreed, thought downing did some good things in the game. We need to figure out why we dominate an opposing side then we score and sit back and let them come at us. It will cost us more points if we keep doing it ! Because we think we can win 1-0, even though our defensive record suggests otherwise. At least yesterday we managed to win ugly, but "missed chances" is a major problem. It's ok if you miss the odd sitter, but when you're doing it every game there's something wrong.

won not a good display hanging on a bit last 10 maxi and adam played well downing is sorry to say this 5hite . Well I guess I'm the only one who sees something in Downing. I think he's been badly let down by poor finishing and defensive play. Today he played out of position for most of the game. He mainly has Suarez or nobody to aim aerial balls at which is never going to be easy. Yet stillearly on in the game he placed the ball right on Suarez's head 6 yards out for a free header early on, that most strikers would have scored. Similar has happened in other games too. Is it Downing's fault he hasn't created a goal and got an assist there? He produced some other good crosses, even seen him beat a defender or two and get brought down edge of the area for a free kick in a dangerous position. He's better - playing out of position - on the right wing than Henderson is, who seems to have been bought for there. That's not 5hite in my book. sorry for 20 million he doesnt create he doesnt go passed defenders he doesnt score and doesnt get involved enough ok he might come good but up to now he is not good and he doesnt show signs of vast improvement were maxi and bellamy have .

Downing has been a disgrace in a liverpool shirt so far this season! Either way I support him, but perhaps he should be on the bench a bit more....

How many more of these big money signings are we going to shelve on the bench because they asre not up to standard? The real disgrace is whoever signed Carroll and Downing for £55m. Money that has gone to waste and that we can ill afford to spare and could have been put to productive use. This has probably cost us champions league 2012 and 2013 in all likeyhood. So we have not just lost £55m but probably the revenue from future champions league putting the club further and further behind. Kenny is in a precarious postion if we have a bad spell now. He HAS to show continuous improvement or I fear Henry will lose patience.

You need to stop judging our players on how much they cost, faz. Judge them on how they play and whether they're worthy of being in the team. If we got Downing for £8m would you feel a lot better about him? The same with Henderson and Carroll. Stop judging them on their pricetags - forget about that, it's irrelevant now.

You're talking about the manager being sacked, and us missing out on CL qualification for the next 2 years, when in reality we're playing great football all season (barring the finishing) and we're still very much in the race for a top 4 finish. Unnecessary.

Those players added little to nothing to the team. Downing does add something to the team. I agree that he hasn't hit top form and hasn't done as much as we expected from him, but he's been decent in the last few games, and started off the season in good form. Just stop moaning about him and f*cking back him.
