We defo didn't play like a mid-table team bar our finishing. In fact, we controlled the back and the midfield. It was only the play in the final third that needs working on.
It was a game we could easily have won 4 to 5-0. And we hit the post twice??
Imagine if we have a decent finisher in this team like fowler we'd be up there challenging for the title. I firmly believe we would be, you know. Once again, a visiting keeper had another great game. That save from Maxi's shot to the bottom corner was world class. Yeah, hit the woodwork another 2 times - that's 16 times this season now. Unbelievable. Delighted we got the 3 points that we deserved and hopefully we can build on this now. Great to see Suarez ending his dry spell today - I sold him from my Fantasy team last week, so it was bound to happen  Be delighted if he can do that every week!! thats a load of c**p, its bad finishing pure and simple. fair enough that chance was from a tricky angle but what about all the others. the one the keeper saved from maxi in the second half from 6 yards out was a shocking miss not good goal keeping. we are creating loads of chances wich is great but lets tell the truth its bad finishing all round thats letting us down. this thing about the other goalkeeper being outstanding every week is bull. delighted we won today but we need to buy a finisher badly, its costing us games all over the place. if we get a decent finisher i reckon we could still get 4th if not we have no chance. Ehh... I've said countless times (including in that last post) that our poor finishing is the reason we don't have more points. Their keeper did have a great game though. Not as great as some of the other visiting keepers this season, but he pulled off some top quality saves. That doesn't excuse everything else, but it doesn't count for nothing. We do need to buy a finisher in January - something else I've said countless times. sorry was nt realy having a go, just hate that attitude this season that its always the other keeper having a stormer and not poor finishing. we have been unlucky in some games but we have no player in the team with a bit of composure in front of goal. i only hope we have a bit of money in jan to sort it out.

i think suarez has that composure, the problem is he is on his own up there. its the ame old story with liverpool, too much dependance on one striker, they end up coming deep or pushing wide to influence the play and are to far from goal.
in fairness to kenny, if carroll got his finger out of his arse we wouldnt have the problem. january will tell a lot. i really hope kenny just bites the bullet and gets rid of caroll and admits it didnt work out, that way we can quickly get on with replacing him and get a good pairing up there. suarez's partner needs to have a brain and good feet. carroll has no brain and no feet. kuyt has a brain but no feet.

one nil is one nil and 3 points. am happy.
a few more one nil wins on the bounce, and this will give the whole team more confidence and the players can relax a bit more, this resulting in more goals, instead of hitting the post, bar, keep making saves they should not make or missed chances that shud be hitting the net.
wud luv to see KD sign or get torres on loan, next month.
these 2 upfront, wud be awesome.

faz, KD wanted to sign(and did) average british players, ahead of quality foreign players, that could of cost less, or just a bit more than downing, hendo, carroll, did.
sign best british players or sign quality players, that are better than british players, to make the starting 11 stronger!!!!!,
FAO..KD... please sign at least 3 quality players ( winger, centre mid, striker) (hopefully foreign ones), that can improve the starting 11, come next month and turn draws into wins and chances into goals

I think he's been badly let down by poor finishing and defensive play. Today he played out of position for most of the game. He mainly has Suarez or nobody to aim aerial balls at which is never going to be easy. Yet stillearly on in the game he placed the ball right on Suarez's head 6 yards out for a free header early on, that most strikers would have scored. Similar has happened in other games too. Is it Downing's fault he hasn't created a goal and got an assist there? He produced some other good crosses, even seen him beat a defender or two and get brought down edge of the area for a free kick in a dangerous position. He's better - playing out of position - on the right wing than Henderson is, who seems to have been bought for there. That's not 5hite in my book. i agree with you rafa, think downing is a good player. put no pass on faz hes just a big ham

yup agreed, thought downing did some good things in the game. We need to figure out why we dominate an opposing side then we score and sit back and let them come at us. It will cost us more points if we keep doing it !
