This is simply a must win to get the lads back on track. I expect us to win this one comfortably but as a Liverpool fan you can never be sure as we seem to take the lesser teams for granted. I would go for an attacking team as we need goals! Defensively we have been sound so the team I would pick is:

Reina
Kelly - Skrtel - Agger - Enrique
Henderson - Adam - Shelvey
Maxi - Suarez - Bellamy

Subs: Doni, Carragher, Johnson, Coady, Kuyt, Downing, Carroll

Shelvey is a big call but he has done exceptionally well for Blackpool and I reckon he deserves a chance. Out of the 3 midfield players I would have Adam holding as he would be more effective in this role than the other 2. We currently do not have a holding player available so there is nothing else we can do.

Your thoughts?

In fact I would drop Carroll from the squad completely due to his dire recent performances and add young Adam Morgan to the bench. If we were winning comfortably then we could give him a run out as he looks promising. There is no need for Carroll on the bench when he have Kuyt.

team needs to start winning some games 1 nil, playing ugly, poorly, at the moment, its not about the good football, its all about 3 points.

Wish I could say I was surprised by some of the sensationalist reactions by most of the people on here, but I'm not. Not even in the slightest. As usual, there are OTT reactions left right and centre.

That being said, losing at Fulham is simply not good enough. We played well enough in the first half and throughout the game, certainly had enough chances to win it. The officiating was shocking on the red card for Spearing, for not sending Senderos off, and for disallowing Luis's goal. Once again the woodwork has been our enemy - particularly on Henderson's effort. Before that, Andy should have scored when set up by Luis on about 7 minutes.

I felt that Andy shouldn't have started this game. Maxi was well deserving of a starting place. To say he should be dropped from the squad completely is just unreasonable, and counter-productive. This attitude of "sack the squad" after a bad result has got to stop, it's f*cking pathetic.

As has been said, this is an absolute MUST win game. No excuses. No more hard-luck stories. Yeah, we've had a ridiculous amount of bad luck, but it comes to a stage where that can no longer be used as an excuse and you need to start making your own luck.

I've said many times that a centre back has to be the top priority for January, but the more the season has gone on, the more and more apparent it has become that we crucially need a goalscorer. The goals have dried up from the people we usually rely on, aswell as some of the new lads not chipping in enough.

Fair enough bar but I hope your not pointing the finger at me for the "sack the squad" quote. I just think that Carroll has been consistently poor for us and he should be dropped completely from the squad. He clearly has zero confidence at the minute so a bit of time in the reserves would do him no harm at all. And its about time we started introducing some of the new generation of Liverpool with players such as Coady, Sterling, Raheem etc. I'm not saying give them full games but Saturday would be a perfect way to introducing providing we were 2 or 3 goals up

Good shout for a team, Maxi, Bellamy and Suarez have to start as a front 3, I've been screaming for this top happen! How Maxi doesn't start more games in his current form is beyond me....

Another draw looming

It's a home game, right? 1-1, especially if we play Carroll. 2-1 if Carroll starts on the bench. He's not doing as badly as people suggest, but we don't show enough enterprise with him. It just seems that a more pacy front-line-3 of Suarez-Bellamy-Maxi/Downing has a sharper edge to it.

I like this lineup. Kelly has proven himself ready for first team football. We need to play Shelvey to see how he has improved and this seems to be the perfect game for that. Maxi needs to be starting virtually every game now. The 3 up top is very fast, it will give QPR plenty of trouble. 3-0
