He washed the club's dirty linen to put pressure on dumb and dumber. It was the only way to pressure the yanks to leave the club. Rafa was smart to use the fans to turn against the owners. Rafa was the reason why we knew how the yanks were destroying the club from within and tried to stop that from happening by engaging the fans. I would be [oops] if I knew that rafa had withheld information at that time just to protect his job.

Rafa Benitez is a rotter, poison and toxic he never just upset Hicks and Gillette but evey other manager in the League not to mention Pako, Valencia, Moratti and Rick Parry you dont upset that many if your whiter then white.

Graeme souness is a bigger legend than benitez and he is very much disliked for an error of judgment but an F.A Cup winner as manager and loads as a player

i dont think anyone's saying he's whiter than white.

I really think the Rafa haters should forgive his failings if only because he put us back on the map as a leading force in Europe which added to the tradition founded by Shankly and and Paisley.

When we're going through tough times we need to stick together. And one of the things that keeps us going during bad times is our history and tradition. Part of that is the fact that barring poor Roy who was perhaps the wrong man at the wrong time, every other manager going back to Shankly has put a trophy in the cupboard. It's because of this that we can create banners honouring a string of managers. I don't thin there is any other club that can do that.

So I urge Rafa haters to accept him as one of our family, a worthy member of the pantheon of great managers and worth a place in a banner with Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Dalglish and Houllier at least.

We concede he wasn't perfect, he had significant shortcomings in the end, and maybe it was time for him to go when he did. But he earned a special place in our hearts and history which we should acknowledge.

'I was only in the game for the love of football - and I wanted to bring back happiness to the people of Liverpool.' Bill Shankly

Rafa put enough plunder in the trophy cabinets during his time to deserve a place in our history.

Certainly has devided a lot of fans but if he had the clout that Kenny has now and started taking in those Stars we had then sold and added those he wanted, who knows where Liverpool would have been.

Right manager, wrong commercial time.

Oh yeah there will be other views on this, but I see the respect he still holds the club and the fans, I am happy to respect him.
