i post this in the wake of the dalglish's comments about telling fans not to travel to chelsea and the prospect of fielding a weakened team in the only real chance of winning a cup , plus the now unbelievable clamour for the return of a certain rafa benitez to be either assistant to dalglish or to just replace him all together , this is all down to sentiment nothing more nothing less , if another manager had come out with comments about weakened team and dont travel there would be mass uproar , plus benitez is touting for the liverpool job now and has been since he failed massively at inter milan , which is not good for the club to have him hanging around like some sort of spector from the past , if dalglish succeeds great fantastic , but i think it might not happen under kenny but one thing is certain to replace him with benitez would be the biggest mistake in the clubs history worse than any decision to appoint roy hodgson , why doesnt benitez just move on he hangs around like a bad smell , and the fans encourage it which is down to sentiment pure and simple and it is holding back progression of the club . how is rafa holding us back? when shortsighted supporters what this failure back at the club , its holding the club back with blind faith and sentiment

faz to suggest rafa has just as much blame to the down full of the club is just plain stupid. lets not forget he took the club to a new level after gerrard left it in a mess. we were ranked number one team in europe and were very much feared. cant you rafa haters give the man credit for what he did achieve. i honestly believe if he had that kind of financial backing kenny has had we would be in a much better position then we are now.
yes his last year was a mess and it was the right time to sack him and am not sure bringing him back would be a good idea but i have upmost respect for the man as a manager and as a man.

Wtf has shutting the club down got to do with anything, stop being a dick faz. your quoting CL football i think the club can progress ok maybe no CL this season but like spurs did win the league cup built on that then qualified for the CL and there a better team than liverpool who are very likely to finish at least 4th and dont be abusive mate no need have i been abusive to you i dont think so, but i think the club and more importantly the fans need to start looking at the club for what it is a top 6 team and stop trying to be stupid and blind to the way the club is 6 going into 7 years without a trophy over 20 years without the league possibly 3 years out of the CL a year not even in europe and sentiment still holds the club back .

Requesting you stop acting like a dick is not offensive, just friendly advice.

Rafa was a promising manager at one point - but not any more. He became conceited, petulant, and arrogant - which stripped him of that early promise.
He got found out at Inter when he was given a treble winning team and he ruined them in six months. All the more pathetic when you consider that his style of football was tailor made for Serie A.
Rafa is a bad smell for a lot of Liverpool fans because they have their noses permanently wedged up his @rse. He came here - he did well at first - then he failed - then he repeatedly failed. All this plather about him not having money or support is nonsense. He bought a couple of decent players (who ended up not liking him) but spunked millions on dross. For every game that he managed brilliantly during a couple of CL runs - he managed dozens horribly with embarrassing decision-making.
Rafa is the past and going back to him would be a massive backward step. Those arguing that about Dalglish are being slightly myopic. As disappointing as the dropped points at home are - we are playing better football than we have in the last couple of years and are capable of beating anyone. But for the woodwork and some bad luck we'd be in second place and all applauding the manager instead of talking about the has-been that is Rafa Benitez! 100% correct
