i post this in the wake of the dalglish's comments about telling fans not to travel to chelsea and the prospect of fielding a weakened team in the only real chance of winning a cup , plus the now unbelievable clamour for the return of a certain rafa benitez to be either assistant to dalglish or to just replace him all together , this is all down to sentiment nothing more nothing less , if another manager had come out with comments about weakened team and dont travel there would be mass uproar , plus benitez is touting for the liverpool job now and has been since he failed massively at inter milan , which is not good for the club to have him hanging around like some sort of spector from the past , if dalglish succeeds great fantastic , but i think it might not happen under kenny but one thing is certain to replace him with benitez would be the biggest mistake in the clubs history worse than any decision to appoint roy hodgson , why doesnt benitez just move on he hangs around like a bad smell , and the fans encourage it which is down to sentiment pure and simple and it is holding back progression of the club .

For me Faz its John Henry he needs to get a grip. Its because we have no plan you are getting this speculation. Dalglish was appointed I feel in a situation where Henry was not in control of events and trying lamely to appease fans. So far he has shown himself to be a weak man. HE is the one in charge and needs to sort this drifting of the club out.

No CL footy is holding us back.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Yes I agree with all of the above points. I respect Rafa a lot however because he genuinely seems to love the club which is nice and he did a decent job for us no matter what anyone says.

The Club will never move forward because it always lives in the past, thats it in a nutshell, even the appointment of Dalglish was based purely on sentiment, he would never of got near the job if it was'nt to do with who he is. I also think if it would of been anybody else other than Dalglish who had the start of this season there would be mass uproar but because it's Dalglish the blame gets deflected, even people on here make excuses for the gross misuse of Club funds on medoicre to bad overpriced lemons, I blame fans for holding the Club back just as much as the people in charge all for living in the past and not moving with the times.

im one that is nt upset at all by dalglish s comments, it just proves to me what we already knew. the league will always take priority over the carling cup. even for teams fighting relagation the league takes priority over the cup.
i belieive people who believe otherwise are living in the past and cant accept that the league cup is nt a big trophy anymore.
its been devalued for years by all teams.

our main goal as a club MUST be getting back into the champions league and drive on from there to put this great club back where it belongs.

Why is rafa a bad smell? I would welcome him back with open arms.

He managed to achieve considerable success with no support from owners. Who knows what he'll achieve with 100% supportive owners.

your blinkered red who believe benitez is whiter than white and done nothing wrong , he is just as much to blame for the decline of liverpool f.c. than the owners at the time , and yes he is hanging around like a bad smell your post proves this but you have you head stuck in this fantasy world of benitez you cant see it .
