its would be very nice to finish 4th or higher but to win a cup and to go to a cup final is what its all about , its what liverpool football club is about , just qualifying for the CL does not guarantee anything , but a cup win would mean so much just look at spurs in 2008 they won the league cup and went from strength to strength and this is the way liverpool should go because 4th is possibly and likely out of reach this season even after millions spent . To say 4th is likely out of reach is a bit much, faz! The season is only 11 games old, don't be panicking just yet. Also, I've maintained all along that both are achievable, not just 1 of the 2! I stand by that. spurs are better than liverpool and yes liverpool will beat some 4 or 5 nil but also likely to lose at wigan or QPR and thats why i dont think 4th is on

I dunno if there's anyone actually saying that they don't want to win the cups, I think they're just saying they'd prefer to finish 4th.
Sorry bar but wake up and read the posts, everyone is saying 'worthless cup' and rubbish like that towards this tourney. No one wants this tournament on this site besides a couple of people. Its a legitmate chance to win it and we play one game a month for fks sake, wake up everyone, whether we win this cup or not, it will not hurt our premierleauge form, we are struggling as it is so going out of this competition now will be bad for our confidence. We need the new lads to lift us and perform and these games will only help.

Sorry bar but wake up and read the posts, everyone is saying 'worthless cup' and rubbish like that towards this tourney. No one wants this tournament on this site besides a couple of people. Strange, it only seems like yesterday we won in Istanbul followed by the FA Cup the next year. The trophy drought between 1995-2001 seemed a lot longer.
It certainly did - but still our priority has to be cl qualification this season - the owners said as much - and whilst there are at least four better teams than us in the league, that's no reason to throw in the towel and concentrate on winning cups which may get us back into europe, but not in the competion we want to be playing in it seems like only yesterday when we used to qualify for the cl as a matter of course

atleast they get sleep, its not like they will do this at one go. Some people do 2 shifts to live while others go on days without sleeping just to pass an exam. If those people can do it then a bunch of overpaid footballers should be able to play a game of footie after 2 days of rest.
