Of corse Id love to win both but which game would you choose to win if we can only get 1. Playing twice at the bridge in 10 days it seems. They could be a huge 3 points champion league wise. Id really love to see us at Wembley playing for the Carling cup though. Im going to say for its the Nov 29th game.

Carling cup no doubt about it without even reading your post. We need to win this competition, we are already struggling in the league as it is so why collapse on both fronts? This cup is ours to win if Kenny plays it right.

I'd take a win in the Cup and a draw in the League. I think progression in the Cup is vital to the confidence of the players. 1 point from Chelsea is all I expected at the start of the season and if we win then it's a bonus.

In saying that, I honestly believe we can win both games so long as we take the chances we create!

An alternative would be to win both the Chelsea games whilst taking a risk against City a home by resting some players, even Suarez perhaps.

It's obvious we're not going to win the league. I'd feel sick if we lost to Chealsea in the Carling Cup but beat or drew with Man City at home. That would mean being kicked out of a cup whilst also helping you know who in the league !

personally i prefer the 3 points if i have to choose between the two. We need them after dropping so many at home. We dont want our rivals to get too far from us before Christmas.

it's a difficult one - assuming we're all agreed that we can't plan to play the first choice team in all three games.

I'm thinking that losing to City at home wouldn't be wholly unexpected anyway. And the confidence of a cup win would help us pick up more points in the league. Whilst being knocked out of the cup might create pressure resulting in more points dropped points thereafter.

i,d take the cup win because even if we win the league match we are still not gonna get champion,s league because we,ll fu ck up against the so called lesser teams...

First of all, we not only can, but we must play our first choice players in these three games, else no chance of winning them, simple as that! Why should we not play them? I would argue we need to play them as they need to gel better and if anything they are not getting enough games.
If I had to choose between the two Chelsea games I'd choose the 3 points, a Champions league place is our target this year and we must stay focused on that. The cup would be nice to win, but thats all, a 4th place finish is more important for the future of the club.
