stanley local mean places you mention , i think he means people who do go and did go but cant because of a number of reasons but are frozen out by the club same goes for the irish support i dont think the club want them either , they are courting asia and is that right ?

You would still have Liverpool the place or it's way of life within your life on a daily basis somewhere, my point is there are so many fans supporting us that have absolutely nothing to do with the place and just support the Club purely and simply because they have to support someone so it might as well be us because of fame or glory, this is the type of fan I find hard to accept as being the same as me and why I get into so much trouble with people on here when I defend myself. The club just see the pound signs am afraid and I know sooner or later this attitude towards locals will come back to haunt them, already lost the next generation of young local fans.

What you dont realize is that LFC has a STRONG following of foreign supporters who have supported this club for plenty of years, 20+ myself. WE dont want supporters who are glory hunters, we want supporters who stick with our club through everything
Unfortunately you would need to question why a person would choose to support the football Club of another City in the first place if it was not for fame and glory, the thought would'nt enter your mind especialy if you have no ties with the area or people, dont make any sense and this is the type of fan the Club is trying to entice due to the money they spend.

I agree, plenty of people choose to support a team for no good reason beside "cool colors" or "sweet crest". Liverpool doesnt care where they get the fans (or money) as long as they can continue to inject new blood, improve the ground, etc. This is the same as EVERY club in the world. Its during these times when LFC will appreciate homegrown fans more than foreigners. I dont deny that foreign fans are in the minority but I ask you not to question the color of our blood, because it will always be RED

from my point of view. we have no profesional league in ireland, im supporting a club in the closest profesional league to our country. ive supported liverpool since i was a young boy, ive played football my whole life and love watching it and following it. now i obviously picked a club when i was younger and liverpool were prob one of the best at the time.
but thats the same for most people regardless of where there from. you could have choose everton or trnmere rovers to support crown but you did nt you choose the more succesfull club liverpool. those that not also make you a "glory hunter" as you put it?

Also Ireland has a lot of ties with Liverpool both blood and economic. The saying goes Liverpool is Ireland most easterly city.
