So, after watching the game last night and seeing what an influence Luis has on the way we play, I wonder who you think should be our second choice striker in case Suarez gets injured (God forbid). I don't think Andy has shown enough just yet although he seems to be getting more and more dangerous with each game, Kuyt is not in rich goal scoring form at the moment so for me, the obvious choice would be Craig Bellamy. I think Bellamy has been great in all the games he has played for us this season. What are your opinions? Bellamy should have preference over the other two if you ask me.

Hugo Rodellega could be a good/realistic purchase. But I am one of the small minority that still holds onto faith regarding Andy Carroll.

Has to be Bellamy for now. He has been good to watch everytime he gets on the field. His pace is a great asset and he can score a lot of goals when given opportunities that Carroll might not score. Bellamy gets my vote.

To me, it looks like Carroll is getting much sharper. He's in the right place and getting more on target, can only be a matter of time before he starts banging them in.

At this point Bellamy would be my choice, what i'm hoping for is all of our players can be utilised when needed, if only they can all hit form together,not sure about a new striker at this point it depends who goes in summer,if any.

I say have a rotating three, like every other top flight team out there. Bellamy and Carroll both have roles to play.

Like redfordead has indicated we should be rotating between Bellamy and Caroll, although I would love a young back up striker: Marko Marin.

my 1st choice pairing wud be bellamy n saurez.

i hope i am wrong, but it looks like saurez, carroll partnership is showing no signs of working....yet.

bellamy n carroll wud be my second choice pairing, with saurez playing in a free role, in front of the midfield, as the 3 striker.

if bellamy, saurez, kuyt were not available, i wud like to see hendo given a chance, playing off carroll.

I would go for Andy Carroll for the first hour at least and then unleash Bellamy when the opposition's defence starts to tire. We know that Carroll is getting fitter and sharper with every single match that he played. This should give the oppositions defenders more problem and hopefully tire them out faster. If Carroll can bang in a couple of goals would be more better. Then when the defenders starts to tire and lose concentrations , then bring in Bellamy who has the speed to hurt any defence in the Premier League. Kuyt can be the supporting role for both these men as he is the man who does not know the word tired.

Anyway given the choice , I would not want to be in a situation where Suarez is not available. Would prefer to have him anywhere in the squad even when he is only half fit and sitting on the bench. Opposition teams are now fearing at the mention of the name LUIS SUAREZ...

HAve to say I have faith in Carroll and I believe Downing and Adam are more to blame for his lack of success this season. It showed yesterday how well Suarez played with Maxi and personaly I would have him on the left as 1st choice untill Downing starts to get to the by line more often and begin his crossing.

Having said that Imo we need a new striker and it has to be someone who can finish basically another Torres would be ideal but it can be eithier a finisher with the phnysicality to fins the right positions to get the chances ala drogba or the pace with the finishing to get the chances ala defoe or a finisher with the mental aspects to find the chances ala raul or inzaghi.

Personaly think Bellamy is more like a Defoe striker and Carroll is more the Drogba type. Suarez is more like an attacking Midfilder in that he creates more than he finishs sort of like Van Der Vaart.

In that respect we need another Torres esk striker or a striker with all round ability, like a saha, a van persie, a bent etc etc. With that in mind there are very few striker of this type availoable so up to Commoli to find a realtivly unknown one like Rafa did when he first signed Torres.
