What's nasty about asking Snakeye to back up his statement: 'There was a very good reason he left no doubt about that.'

I simply asked what is that reason. He said there was no doubt about it - so what is that reason - or is he just assuming that Kenny knows best - like people used to assume that 'Rafa knew best' and 'Houllier knew best'



My point - which I should have guessed might have been lost on you - is that most people expressing that sentiment now are exactly the same as those singing his praises last season - it's nonsensical

All I know is that we looked a lot better at the end of last season when Raul was in the team, than we do now - but no one wants to discuss that because it dares challenge the pre-conceived notion that Kenny gets everything right

In this case I don't think he did - and every single bit of evidence supports that view

Maybe it has improved but the question is has it improved enough given the massive expenditure Kenny was given?

Raul Meireles is already a Chelsea player at this moment of time. So let it go guys. Rather than looking back at what is already being done , we might as well look forward. I admit Raul was one of the better player in Liverpool's squad last season but he made the decision to leave. If he had loved to play for Liverpool , no reasons can make him leave but I will never blame him for leaving as his heart is no longer in Liverpool. So it will benefit both sides for him to make the move although some Liverpool fans may feel sad losing a good player especially to a rival club.


Look forward guys. Now we have a few players that can readily replace him although not immediately. We bought in Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam. They might not be in impressive form at the moment but they are certainly improving. Adam especially. Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia never hit the ground running when they arrive in Liverpool but they became the crowd's favourites when they keep on improving in every game as they get used to the life and players in Liverpool. So to me losing Meireles was not all bad news. Instead , take this opportunity to see whether a younger player like Henderson and maybe Suso can come in and replace him. Let's not forget that Raul is a central midfielder. So by giving these youngsters a chance , they can learn from one of the best player in the central midfield position in the form of Steven Gerrard.

Agreed he was only average with an occasional flash of quality when he was with us. You asked a good question there Liverbird, the team he played against was poor to say the least...even I would have scored against them! So no big deal there, even though the usual suspects would like to make it so!

Jim you know no more than anyone else does about the reasons he left. For a start maybe he would want to go Chelsea as they looked to be the more successful club short term and he's getting on to the peak of his career.

Snakeye I'm unsure if Hendo and Adam are actually better, it comes down to opinions onbviously, but I am yet to be convinced they are of better quality than what meireles can produce. I also think meireles suarez downing gerrard would have been better at quick interchanging passes that what we will get from Adam. Time will tell.

mierless was treated very shabbily by dalglish.he made it known he wasnt realy in his plans.mierless eventualy got the message.he felt unwanted so he left.had dalglish been more recipetant to mierless hed of stayed and shone along side gerrard.
dalglish has actualy weakened the team buy letting two class players go AND buing 4 players that just will not improve the team at all and will in fact make it worse.his judgement has to be called into question.ultimatly adam downing henderson carrol will be the downfall of dalglish because results will prove them to be not what was needed.his vision for lfc is somewhat clouded id say and its unlikely he will take the club far now.there will be no money iin january other than from player sales.
