First of all, I am only assuming there is a good reason he left, its common sense really. I know nothing, heck I don't even live at Liverpool let alone be close to the club to know the true extent of something. Meireles did not wake up one morning however and turn up to Kenny's office with a big smile and telling him I want to leave to your main rival. Something went down and looking from it from the outside you can tell it wasn't positive. So, unlike you who believes that Miereles was forced to hand in a transfer request for some bizare reason, maybe he is a slave not a footballer? I believe there was a solid reason for him leaving, once again I do not know that reason because I do not work under Kenny, I am just using common sense.

I'm not falling for anybody's spin here, I make my own assumptions based on what I believe and what I think is right.

You listed 3 players that you think are no way near his level. I agree with Spearing and hendersen but Adam is far capable of replacing him, you will understand when the season is up and see the stat difference in goals, assists etc. I am pretty sure it will surpass Miereles' record. Adam is also one of the first players on the team sheet highlighing his importance.

mereiles is a very good player. chelsea are no mugs they dont buy crap. im also happy with charlie adam tho, but i would have like to see raul stay too, its a long season he would have got plenty of games and the competition for places in midfield would have been great.

Fair enough, Meireles was a good player, would of been a fantastic squad player had Adam taken his place, he is above average but not great as he was invisible for many games. I believe Adam is well capable of replacing him if he can repeat his Blackpool form.
