@haters. Then name 3 players who played better than Carroll in each game of the last 3, and provide at least a glimmering of WHY (which you people never do). Simple enough, one would think.

v Everton: Enrique, Carra were up there for MotM. Suarez was good for about half the time but a bit absent the rest. Lucas and Adam did little to influence the game I felt, Skrtel was his usual average-to-poor self, Reina wasn't tested, Kuyt managed to miss a penalty, and Kelly wasn't very adventurous. Downing was our worst player.

v Wolves: Suarez was pretty good all game, Lucas was solid, Downing wasn't bad, Enrique solid but not inspiring, Adam and Skrtel both tried to get sent off again, Henderson was nowhere, Carra was average, Reina didn't inspire me to say he dominated his area, Kelly battled in the second half due to fitness.

v Spurs: across the board we were really poor, but Carroll ran his legs off at RM and came closest to scoring once Suarez was subbed. Spearing was better than just about everyone else - at least he tried.

So, even if Carroll was average (as opposed to the "improved" that pretty much everyone on here agrees with) he's still in the top 3 players in the team in each of the last 3 games, which is what I said. Or maybe you thought we played really well as a team the last few games? Because I don't.

Are you astonished? If you aren't, why do you continue to knock him?

Again I laugh at the fact you put @haters like some kind of child.

Against everton he took his goal well, for the rest of the game he wasn't half as good as you would want a liverpool no.9 to be, wasted possession, his off the ball running which you should start considering was woeful and never opened up any space. The only time we had space in those areas was when kuyt came in field and opened it up and then when bellamy came on (two intelligent footballers).

Just god knows how you think he got in the top 3 vs wolves. I don't even know where to begin. Other than henderson skrtel and reina, the rest of the team contributed more over the course of the game than carroll did.

vs spurs to be fair you have a point, he might have been in the top 3 players vs spurs but in that game its like saying my sh!t is shinier than your sh!t.

I think carroll is improved absolutely, but he is still far below par and absolutely nowhere near top 3 vs wolves and for my money wasn't in the top 3 vs everton, the only game he could be in contention for that accolade is vs spurs, and that isn't much of a compliment as everyone was pants.

I am not astonished because you have proven nothing. In my opinion he clearly hasn't been in the top 3 players of the last 3 games so stop saying it like it's fact when it's quite easy to at least suggest (I won't say prove because it is subjective but to be honest it is nigh on prove) that he quite simply wasn't. I knock him because he is blatantly clogging up the way we play. When he isn't on the pitch we almost always play better football. Suarez work, so far, much better with a more intelligent Kuyt type player. Long term who knows, but against Utd I would rather have someone who is creating space rather than just lumbering around.

In wolves I think he was easily top 3. Henderson and Skyrtle contributed more? You must be joking. Syrtel's carelessness is what led to Fletcher's goal and Henderson was anonymous as always. Carroll, on the other hand, made several key defensive clearances, won several key headers, nearly scored (hit the post), made some brilliant passes (there was a 40 yard cross he made that made me do a double take), ran hard, chased balls, and created chances.

Listing people who you thought were better without any reason why is not an argument. If you make a claim, support it with evidence. If you think someone was better, tell me why.

You look very stupid right now because that is the opposite of what I said.

Haha! Exactly what he's doing all the time.

When do we get to see his fastest run? I certainly hope it's not the lumbering strive that is his max pace!

Ok, even if I misread the henderson/Skyrtel part, you still never made a valid argument, you just disagreed. Who was better, and why? And please do it without the petty insults you've been slinging.

First of all, get over yourself. Much worse gets banded about, don't get your knickers in a twist because people called you up on a blatant mistake you made.

2nd of all I did make a valid argument, if you disagree with it I would never lambaste someone for that as (and I have mentioned this many times now) this particular discussion is incredibly subjective. If you disagree you disagree, but don't be a child about it.
