We havnt really started the season with a big bang we are 6 points off top and winning games we would have drawn last season like today for example. There is a long way to go and we have a massive game in 2 weeks time, but if we can get a result against them then who knows. Top 4 for me is a must, We wont win the league but I will be happy come Jan if we are 6-10 points behind top spot.

For me Utd are quality, however if you get at them they are beatable. City struggle to break some sides down, Chelsea are strong but have been v lucky this season. arsenal are poor.

Im not saying we will win the league because I agree we have been pretty lucky in the last 2 games, however looking at this league there is some poor side. I just miss mid week champs league football so much frown

We are suspect defensively though - only 2 clean sheets, thus far. You won't go far without a solid defense, which is exactly the same criticism as aimed at Arsenal. United and City both look like they *should* be conceding goals, yet they're doing a very good job of scoring boatloads more than they ship - something one can't accuse LFC of at this stage.

However I feel that we're playing as badly as we're likely to, the Spurs game aside, and we're still 5th. The whole league will improve with time, but I get the feeling that we have so much more room to improve into once our co-ordination and our communication improves. Never mind that our "one man team" man has only played 1 hour out of 9.

Top 4 is totally on if we can improve our link-up play, and shore up some holes in defense. We have the players - they just need a bit more time.

We are definitely suspect defensively. Carra is great in a game like today when the ball is hoofed into the box- however he is in trouble against teams playing with pacy forwards. Kelly is coming back from injury and still is not 100%. Skrtel is the same as Carra.Enrique is the only defender who is playing well and is a great buy. Agger is injury prone and Coates is new to the EPL.

Absolutely right, were picking up points playing dirt. When I see the 11 on the team sheet I feel we should be destroying teams but when is it going to happen??
However, we've had a lot of tough games stoke away, everton away and a good spurs away, gooners away team . Now I know there's no easy games but those are tough.
So if we win at anfield ( you've got to win the home games) it'd be massive. We must have a few easier ones coming up...then who knows where we'll be at Xmas...

I agree. We've been inconsistant and playing like dirt this season, but we still have picked up points. When one player has a good game, the one who was great last week looks like crap. But it takes time for a rebuilt team to gel, and it takes time to find the right system to work with them. If we get to a place where every player shows up on form, we could be very dangerous.

Our away games have all been tough encounters, so here's to 5 or 6 easier ones on the horizon, and winning the games at Anfield. We can beat United (or anyone for that matter) at Anfield, as long as we're in the right mood and we concentrate for the full game.

6points better off from the same fixtures last season. we are not very fluent and it took the introduction of Gerrard and Bellamy to stretch Everton. Then again having options on the bench is also new to Liverpool, 1.85 points a game means we are on target for a very healthy 70 points. We are starting to look better at the back in recent games and some patterns of play are great. Whilst it never was a sending off, Everton were consistently reckless in some of their challenges as Liverpool moved the ball well at times. Bodes well for the future

I hope we keep on improving as a unit and become much more cohesive. Because although we are six points off top spot and right where we plan to be, the football has been really bad, there is no direction to our football and it is mainly because we lack flair. Hopefully the return of Gerrard and addition of Bellamy will add on that flair we need to kill teams off. because if it comes down to goal difference's we may miss out on fourth place or what not to spurs, because they are firing in the goals. We are not destroying teams, unlike the other top four teams.
