One player who gets selected every game without a question about his contribution is Lucas. His contribution is a joke - slow, poor tackling from the wrong side (gives free kicks away in dangerous edge of the box areas), can't head, can't score. Don't want to hear the 'defensive' midfielder argument - you are a CM or not. A so-called 'defensive' midfielder is centre half. Proper CM's can break down opponents play and still pass and run forward. Since 2007 (when he exploded onto the scene)in games in the Prem, when he has started, we have lost 3 times as many games as when he didn't start.

Downing's gone missing for the last two games but before that i think he played quite well - great first half against Sunderland, strong against Bolton

He certainly looks closer to the £20m we paid than Henderson, although personally i think you have to give all new players at least until Christmas to measure their impact on the team and whulst I was never convinced on the amounts we paiud for Carroll, Henderson and Downing - and said so - I think it's too early to write them off yet

how can u say 4 place is gone already were only 5 games into the season with players still getting use to playing together we have to belive in the team and get behind them not just throw in the towel after 2 defeats

How about some of you support our players instead of getting stuck into them because we have 1 sh1t game?

Spurs only tore us to shreds after we had 9 players on the field! Prior to that when we still had 10 players it was still 1-0!

totally agree wit redlaz its crazy some of the stuff people are coming out with since sunday.

reality is assessing the situation come christmas time and having a better appreciation of how the table has panned out after 19 games is a better judge of where we are as a club rather than saying that were doomed because of 2 losses

I'm the first to admit we paid waaay over the odds for both of these players but to write them off at tyis stage of the season is ludicrous - as is to writre off our chances of getting 4th

We're still ahead of Tottenham and Arsaenal - our main challengers - and whilst talk of challenging the Manchester clubs has already been blown into the water, there's no reason we should write off qualifying for the champs league - not yet anyway

carroll and henderson have failed they have only played 21 games between them for us there 21 and 22 give them a bit of time not every signing we make is goin to hit the ground running like.your just looking for negatives now how do u no real will want suarez can u read the future.

but if we are in a bad situation come Xmas when we should judge how we are doing, the club will strengthen if need be in Jan surely?

Dont Spurs have to sell before they can buy?, so if they get injuries to either Bale or Modric they are in a worst situation than us for me.

Cant rememebr where i read it but agree, whoever finishes above Arsenal will take 4th spot, Spurs for me are nothing special, Arsenal have just had bad injuries, they are still a good team.
