what i am saying is when u drop him its for good not so he gets a kick up the arse. i mean to even suggest carra needs something like that is not only highly stupid but, considering his efforts for the club, vile. all great player come to the end mentioned then before , i am not saying carragher is near the end , but he isnt the jamie carragher that played in istanbul that carragher will never return his career is on a downwards curve it just natural and if carragher is to bigger a player to drop and he thinks he is to important to be a sub then that is wrong .

Basically yes, however Carragher has also had a solid game this season as well, so we cant take him out of the picture for now. Only on a rotation basis he should be changed.

He has stuck with us through thick and thin. We should do the same with him.
He isn't in form right now that is clear but he is still a great player. You don't loose your ability over night

Everything emp has just said it correct, and one of the few voices of logic i've seen on this matter. People are getting carried away with themselves over this, which is what i've been criticising people for.
Faz, what you're saying is right, in that he shouldn't be in the team because of where he's from alone, but come on, let's not be silly, he's not in the team because he's from Bootle. He's a leader, and organiser, a motivator, a captain, and above all, a great defender. He's not finished as some people are making out. He's in the team for his ability above all else - those other attributes are just huge bonuses.
Also as emp said, you don't drop a centre back for miscontrolling the ball once. The penalty he 'gave away' was also one of the softest i've seen, and watching Soccer Saturday earlier all of the panel were of the opinion that it was never a penalty.

I personaly think Carragher gets special treatment because of who he is and although not from Liverpool still a local lad, Gerrard gets the same. I personaly come from a generation where all players should be treated the same which is on merit, if he plays well he stays in the team if he does'nt and makes mistakes then he gets dropped, simple as. If players like Gerrard and Carragher stay in the team because of who they are how can anybody ever get a chance, teams would only have the first 11 and subs.
