Just finished reading his book, 'Red' - and it's surprisingly good. I bought it as I wanted to see what he really thinks as opposed to what the fans/media think he thinks......
.....and one thing that comes across very clearly is he his respect for Liverpool's achievements and some of their players (namely Fowler, Redknapp, Gerrard, Carragher....)

Considering he's holding nothing back I was expecting a lot of negativity towards Liverpool but despite the amount we are mentioned, there is only one issue that actually comes up (where he thinks we tried not to beat Chelsea a few years back..).
It was a surprisingly refreshing read and just goes to show that you cannot believe what you hear on the terraces on read in the papers most of the time. He's gone up very slightly in my estimation with this book and his decent punditry appearances.

Just to give a small spoiler into some of the content, it seems that the player he dislikes the most/rates the least is a Chelsea player and the team he hates the most is Arsenal.

Anyway, as far as football biographies goes, it's well worth a read. Just thought I'd share that with you.

Fair play I want to read Mersons will get round to that Rat boy still but good servant to his club we would love him if he had been Liverpool instead but like Carra in a way Scummers hate him in Carras book he says he had no issue with Rat boy in fact I think he said they spoke a bit about the respect Neville has for Liverpool when away with England

"nice things" aren't controversial and don't sell books though. He's out of the game now so has no reason to do anything BUT be truthful. And as hard as it is for you to accept, he is far more respectful to our club and players than you'd imagine. Them's the facts boyo.

While we are on the subject of players books, I was in a well known bookstore last few weeks and picked up a copy of Roy Keanes, what I usualy do is read the parts concerning Liverpool. Well anyway, I dont know if anyone has had a quick look but the part when he picked United over Blackburn is fascinating reading, apparantly he shook hands with Dalglish and agreed to sign then met United out of politness after talking to Fergie and seeing United he changed his mind. Roy Keane then tells us how he had to phone Dalglish and tell him he had changed his mind, he said Dalglish hit the roof and started saying the " Do you Know Who I am, am Kenny Dalglish and nobody does that to me " like some mafia godfather, anyway it's a funny read dont know what the rest of the book is like.
