I don't believe we've over paid a lot for Henderson as other clubs were also interested in his signature, but sometimes you need to pay a premium to ensure that you nail the deal right away.

Henderson is a real talent. my only problem is with his mentality. he's not aggressive enough. he hides away from passes rather than make himself available. it's as if he is terrified of making a mistake in a liverpool shirt.

stars can afford screw ups. look at how many balls have Gerrard struck to row Z, and how many stupid passes he has made back to Thierry Henry for club and country. yet, Gerrard is my favorite player of all time. why? simply he is so aggressive and confident, he makes things happen!



How can Henderson overcome this problem?

He is young, these things will come with time. He has a brilliant teacher in Gerrard! And the way everyone is jumping on every mistake he makes, I don't blame him for being cautious!

henderson will develop more than say carrol i think he could be a good buy needs help though from gerrard etc

I think they both will develop. Both young and have good teachers, They have both shown what they can do, it's just the consistency they need

lets hope the manager coaching staff give our new signings more encouragement and support than some of the fans give them. christ its getting hyper critical round here.

agree, its ridiculous every week its a new player to criticise, things are looking good, were playing the best football in years and people are still whinging. some ppl are never happy

Agree that some people are never happy. We've played three games in the new season, we've got 8 new players and they are still gelling together and getting a feel of how each other operates. Instead of getting on their backs, understand that we are building a team for the future and it wil take some time to develop cohesion amonst each other. Get off his case and SUPPORT the team instead of criticising them.

i guess for the prices we've paid, people do expect instant gratification. Which was not the point why KD bought most of them for in the first place. I believe his idea is to get more young British players who want to play for liverpool and have abundance in current and potential ability that suits his formations. Perhaps we're too eager to expect too soon n too much?

Add some aggresion to his play and he will be the next Gerrard in the making. The two footed challenge, willingness and the aggresiveness of Gerrard during his early career with Liverpool is what seperates this two. Henderson is still adapting to his fellow teamates and that may effect his game a lil bit. I am sure once he is more expose to both international and club duties, he will soon find out that in football, blood and bruises cannot be seperated. Its all part of the game. Its either he tackle or gets tackle. At the moment, he still got plenty of time to learn from his flaws.

gerrard is not agressive. he is simply productive and makes little mistakes. someone like wayne rooney is aggressive but not gerrard. Hendersen does't need to be aggressive to up his game. I think he had a brilliant game last time out so why not leave it at that for now? I believe he will become a great player in the future if he keeps learning from the master.
