He played much better than Carroll last season and so far this season though. I wish Carroll had half Dirks heart.

Could'nt agree more. Kuyt cover alot of ground and gives a 110% every single time he is on the pitch. He even feature in every single game for Netherland. A team full of gifted players. I would rather the partnership of Suarez/Kuyt. To say Carroll is not a 100% fit is just [oops]. He is injury free at the moment and yet same old story. Maybe he is just mentally drained. God knows what he is up against. Just wish him well fighting for the spot.

If he is not fit due some off the field stuff the medical staff will find that pretty quick I would think. I hope it is due to drink or something and this is not the real Andy Carroll. Otherwise its the worst transfer in history.

i never slagged henderson , as for carroll he has looked really off the boil and if capello is saying he is unfit maybe he is , he does need to buck up seriously .

Let's talk about Facts..

At Newcastle, Carroll was:

1. a great english talent and seemed like the right investment to make. he seemed like a player who, although young, but is ready to be slotted in our first eleven.

2. seen to provide a different option than what we have, which could win us tight games against the more physical sides of the premier league.

3. was and is possessing a fair amount of skill and pace to his game. at least, no one can say he's slow.

At Liverpool, Carroll is:

1. not fully fit yet. maybe injury free, but he's not fit. at Newcastle he was much more mobile.

2. in a need to have an arm around his shoulders. he's lost and thrown into action in one of the worlds greatest teams. that hugely affected his self-esteem.

3. still naive. his decision making is questionable. I believe he will peak quite late in his career (late 20's).

Carroll is an investment and can recoup that investment if he can take us to the Champions League again. He just needs to find his form again.

Some fair points.

But..

£35m for long term potential is some going. And what time do we (and he) have? This is a results business and we need to win games now not in 5 years time. So its hard to see what Carroll brings to the squad in 2011 if he is just potential.

We ain't created much crosses for him in open play. He isn't mobile enough, yes may be. His head is the only option or what? How many times he got the balls in his feet when there is 50/50 chances? It will be better if other players stop hoofing (when he plays) than fan's calling his head!!!!
