It has been confirmed that Steed hung up his boots to take care of his son who has just recently been diagnosed with cancer.

I know this has no relation to Liverpool whatsoever but spare a thought for him. He's a hero in my eyes, putting his family before money.

i always thought he was a good player for fulham and done a bit for spurs. best of luck to him

I remember him a few years ago at fulham.lfc considered him at one point.there was a period when he was a very good player.cancer is indiscriminate as to who it affects.wish him well but no more than anyone else who has cancer or is a cancer sufferer.at least he has the money.a great many dont.
