Seems a popular thing to say among people who have clearly not actually paid much attention to Lucas' game. He does so much more than 'the simple things'. Some of his attacking passes are brilliant, he shields the defence magnificently and keeps possession. I would much rather have the much younger and more mobile Lucas than the over rated Parker. Keep your eyes open and without bias next time you watch Lucas play and honest to god you will plainly see he does much more than just simple things.

Agree 100%. +1

Weren't you slagging Carroll off the other day? Do you have multiple personalities disorder?

The team plays better without Carroll right now. Hopefully that will change. It seems though when Andy is in there all the players try to go over the top to him. Kenny and the other players have to figure out ways to use Carroll as part of the arsenal and not keep trying to make him the atom bomb

First of all - get over the price! Going on about it just makes you look mentally retarded. Torres was barely worth 30 mil and Chelsea paid about 15-20 mil over the odds for him. Our deal for Carroll was simple last day market economics - and the overpricing of both deals offset each other. Think of Carroll being 15 mil and Torres being 30 and move on.

All these comments about him being slow and unfit and having bad movement are boring repetitious copy-cat posts. Carroll was not bought to be a speedy forward like Suarez - it's not his game - never will be. Get over it! He has different attributes - strengths and skills that have seen him become the best natural No. 9 since Shearer retired. Not only is he good in the air - but he's got good feet too - as shown by his goals for Liverpool and England since the transfer. He's not a headless chicken player like Kuyt either - and will get more confident and assured at holding the ball up.

But the most annoying part of all the Carroll bashing is that he hasn't really played any worse than many of our players. He was on a par with Hendo during pre-season - and both will get better as they get used to a massively revamped team and style of play. It's as if all these moaning fans want him to fail - they've already forgotten we had the aging Voronin and clueless Ngog this time last year. Carroll is a young, strong, developing player - why on earth would you want to beat his confidence down? He has great potential for both Liverpool and England - and will be under the tutelage of the modern game's greatest ever striker.

Last but not least, the derision coming from so called 'fans' is a slap in the face to King Kenny. He is trying to model his own team - and we have many new players getting used to each other all at once. Of course it's going to take some of them time to learn each other's game - it's not the easiest thing to anticipate the movement of Suarez (magician) and Kuyt (rabid dog), two of the least predictable players in the premiership. Carroll has only played a couple of full games since coming back from injury - give him some time - and a bit of support.
THIS - i kinda got stressed so sorry frown

No doubt that Carroll has talent and could be a great player given time to adapt and his fitness back and I'm not slagging him in any way shape or form. For all he could be the greatest number 9 in the world but I must be honest I will never be a fan on his in Liverpool FC strictly because I am not and never will be a fan of the big center forward regardless.
Take Edin Dzeko for example. He has come in and done wonders in the first 3 games with City and is now odds on to win the top scorers award but If I was Roberto Mancini I would have never bought Dzeko in the first place purely because I prefer to have a quick striker up front or someone like a Torres/Rooney sort.

For instance, look at Barcelona, up front their tallest player is what, like 5'8 maybe 5'9? They have pace in abundance and copious amounts of ability on the deck and they don't need to whip the balls in to a strikers head etc. They play cute football, always on the deck with quick 1/2's etc to penetrate the defenses.

Nothing against Carroll, he's a great player, I'll just never be a fan of his and would prefer if he wasn't in LFC colours. In saying that, he is a part of Liverpool FC and for that alone I'll support him when he's on the pitch.

Calm down guys.

Actually nobody is slagging Carroll off per se. I thought we were just lamenting over the fact that we should be getting an indispensable player for 35m. Fact is Carroll is no longer a key player in the team and that's tragic after spending 35m.

Just like if you paid 3500 quid for a good sound system, you would expect top notch quality music and entertainment. But if it turns out to be an average system, you can will rant about it won't you? Come'on, let's not have any hypocrisy about it.

No one is blaming carroll or even kenny about it. It's not carroll's fault that he cost 35m. But it doesn't mean that we as supporters can't have a mature discussion about the price we paid and how we were ripped off by Barcodes. Just like the sound system analogy.
