Guys, are you genuinely excited about our squad? I am and I'm actually genuinely looking to thump teams now that the window is shut.
Just think about it - once stevie is fit again, we'll have the best player in the world spraying balls for suarez to score. I honestly think that stevie-suarez partnership is the key to us getting back no.19. Backed by a midfield of Downing, Adam, Lucas and Henderson (or kuyt), we'll have one hell of a team going forward. If that's not good enough, we can throw in a giant andy carroll when we need men in the box or kuyt as an intelligent target man. If we need pace and trickery to complement suarez, we can put in bellamy to confuse defences. We now have options we never had before and I'm salivating thinking about it.
Our back line is also more or less settled. We have signed one of the best left backs in Enrique. We have Carra, agger, skrtel and coates fighting for 2 CB spots. We have 3 quality RBs in Kelly, Johnson and flano. Of course we have one of the best keepers in Reina.
Now, I'm convinced we now have a team to challenge for the title. Man to man, we can match any team in the league. Yes, even man city and the scum. And with no european distractions, every league game will be a cup final until no.19 is won. Let's do it guys. We're good enough and we can do it.

I was bit dissapointed with the recent window but on reflection KD got rid of all those players that most on here wanted shot of.Shame about miereles .I don't think bellamy is going to do much but better than ngog I am sure. IT would have been to much to expect a 30m striker after we signed carrol and suarez maybe next season

not sure if we can push for the league(hope i'm wrong) but i'd like to think we could get into the top 3 and have a good go at winning the cups. i am liking the look of the squad by the way! agree 100 %. just think its a year too soon for us to win the league. city look unbelievably strong and united have strenghtened too. if we can stay with both of those till christmas then who knows. im just glad where on the up and playin great attacking football, we have nt played like that since roy evens days.

Compared to a year ago this squad is so much better and we've really got some depth. I'm optimistic for a top four place but realistically we can't push for the league this year or the new few years- Man City's spending is just so phenomenal and they seem to really be getting it together.
Hopefully I'm talking utter b******* I don't think Stevie is the key any more. Sentiment aside I hope he has to fight for his place in the team as he's not the player he was three/four seasons ago.

I agree with you about Stevie Annfield. For me he is a bonus this year and we need to get along without him and assume he won't be around. If he is and back to his best great but don't rely on it.

There are certainly exciting times ahead! Anyone with half a brain will get that feeling. It's important not to get too carried away and expect too much, though. I actually have even more optimism now that I had up til even a couple of weeks ago coming into the start of the season - which was quite unexpected. I think we can stick it up at the top for a while, but tbh, I think 3rd is the highest we can realistically expect this season. Offer me 4th now though, and i'd snap your hand off. A good cup run or two would be lovely.

Those talking about Citeh being so great , I agree to a certain extent. They are excellent in going forward but still they leak poor/easy goals. I believe they are vulnerable in defence and can definately be beaten. If we beat both them and the Mancs at least once each this season then I honestly believe we can challenge them for the title.....It's a big if I know but it could happen. I'm very optimistic about our season and believe we will seriously challenge for the title and hope for an excellent run in the cups and maybe even win one fo them!

if the team is in the top 4 come Jan 2012 and 4/6 points off top position, i think and hope KD is given more funds, to sign the 2/3 quality players that r needed, to win the EPL title come may.
2/3 players needed ie
hazard,
Javi M or sniejder..signing him will well [oops] off fergie,
Goetze....wenger wud not be happy, if KD signed him.
