I thought Wenger offered 7m already, and they didn't bite? But you're right - as I said in a post on a different thread, I felt we needed 2 CBs, one ready made, one backup. We got the backup for Agger and he looks a decent prospect, but we didn't get the guy who will replace Skrtel this season. Either of Dann or Cahill would fit the bill, I would have thought, as we need consistency more than out-and-out amazing at this stage of our evolution. With Arsenal buying Mertesacker that leaves only us interested in Cahill, whose head was clearly turned by a potential move, and he may jump ship if Bolton don't get their act together.
