why are we paying 10/12m for a 20 year old who has never played even in europe never mind the PL when we could pay 13/14m and sign an established PL CB? i would never want us to sign british players over more talented foreigners but this one makes no sense to me cahill would only cost a couple of million more.

I have to agree as I said earlier, Its a big risk considering he is only 20 at 12m is a bit too steep. I would rather pay 12 for Cahill/Shawcross knowing they could do a good job for us for their premierleague experience. If we end up with Coates, i just hope it works out.

£12m seems a bit steep but you have to pay for young talent now. Look at Arsenal and what they paid for Chamberlain and he hasn't even really played in the Championship. It is a risk but could be worth taking. Just think, we could have taken a risk on Aguero before he went to Madrid.

You have no basis to guess Cahill would be bought for a few million more. Some places are even suggesting it would take 20 million. In which case id take the much cheaper, probably just as good foreigner.
