obviously we needed see shane long as a risk worth taking. he's only had one good season so i understand why we didn't sign him, although i think he should have he reminds me of torres.

His goal against chelsea was superb mate, for me it was a class finish. Something you would expect from an aguero... tevez.. torres of old..

we said it on here before that we should sign shane long as a third striker and we were cut down by alot of people on here who said he would,nt hack it in the premiership well he after getting off to a good start and we could of getting him on the cheep too....

Dirk Kuyt's agent claims Inter Milan have made an offer for the Liverpool forward.

Inter are looking for striking reinforcements with Samuel Eto'o poised to join Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala and Kuyt is on their list of targets.

The Italians have held a long-term interest in the Holland international and they tried to sign Kuyt last summer while former boss Rafa Benitez was still in charge at the San Siro.

Kuyt's representative Rob Jansen admits the 31-year-old needs to think about the offer from Inter.

"Inter Milan have made an attractive offer for Dirk and he has to think about it," Jansen told RTV West. "However, the two clubs have yet to agree a deal."

It is unlikely Liverpool would be willing to sell Kuyt as he enjoyed a strong second half to last season and he was rewarded with a contract extension to keep him at Anfield until 2013.

Kuyt was left out of Liverpool's starting line-up for the opening draw at home to Sunderland, but he returned to the first XI for the weekend win at Arsenal.

Im starting to get annoyed with these rumours linking our best players to other teams. We have just started getting a good squad together. No need to sell our important players even if good offers come in.

what i really like about Kuyt is that he has the big game temperament. He is cool as ice on penalties. He lets his feet and determination do the talking and wears his heart on his sleeve. Not technically brilliant like some of the other Dutch players but he makes it up with energy, passion and a focus mind. What a player ! At 31 he still has lots to offer us but 15 million pound bid would be really tempting. That said, he is one of the players who know will give everything even if he is not a first teamer.

He is such an important player, we should not consider selling at any price. I would not consider selling him even at 20m. Maybe I would have at the beginning of the window but there is no time now to get the money and replace him.

a weird one this, kuyt loves lfc, loves liverpool he has said on several times how his family are more english, or should i say scouse? than they are dutch he has no reason at all to leave on or off the pitch, i think there is nothing to this rumour.

and buy doyle for 15m?

why stop at 20mil emp? i'm sure he is worth at least the money Carroll went for. dont u agree?
