Did anyone else read his lips when talking to Capello pregame saying he'll be back in two weeks!
Great news but i don't know who will lose their spot?! Probably Hendo or Adam but great news to get our skipper back

I really hope he is given as much time needed to rest up well. Don't mind losing him for another few games as long as he is happy with his progress. When he is ready I would like Kenny to try him out at RW. A player of his calibre can make an impact no matter where he is and since we are weak going forward on the right, it would be an ideal area to put him in.

i'd play gerrard on the right. We have enough players in the middle but need creativity on the right and someone who can recieve the ball, turn and run towards the goal. This was one thing we lacked yesterday.

Has Gerrard still got the pace to play on the right? He was brilliant there once but that was a long time ago.

Its wait and see on this really, even if he is back in two weeks hes not going to be anywhere near fit enough, once fully fit i think he can work on the right but as you say he may be slower but we will have to see how he does.

I think he is reasonably fast, not a lennon type of fast but he is still fast and can get behind defenders and put some good crosses in. I don't think his pace is a big issue considering Kuyt is slower than him and he is already playing there.

i dont think playing gerrard on the right is a good idea. firstly it was the beginning of lfc's problms when RB started playing him out there. secondly i dont think he's fit enough to be running around out there. the groin wont take it. i can see him and hendo swapping around. hendo not ready to be a regular just yet.

How about a defensive midfield role? Lucas is a brave guy that gives 110% every game but we all know he is a limited player that only does one thing and thats breaking up play. Gerrard could play there while being more involved, a better passer. I know he is known for his defensive weakness but if Kenny instructed him to do a job there, I am sure he can be solid.
