Yeah it was something like that, but Fowler's book (not gospel by any means by the way!) lays most of the blame with Houllier

I can see his point but Fowler's career since then suggests that selling him for such a large fee might not have been an awful idea. Wasting the money on Diouf, now THAT was an awful idea!

thommo and houllier got together to get rid of him - but the main motivator behind driving him out of the club was owen - they wanted to keep him happy - and what a great choice that turned out to be when the little rat took the money and ran a couple of years later!

Unfortunately Fowler was finished when he left Liverpool, it was the right thing to do sell him. Although still a very good player who will always get you some goals he was never the same old Fowler as before he got injured in his collision with Thomas Myra against Everton.

how can you tell that when he never got a run of games to show what he could do? he was always 3rd choice behind owen and heskey and only played if one or the other was out
